I want to buy dd new doll this year. She loves her Corolle Les Cheries dolls but I want to get something bigger.

I love the look of Kidz n Cats dolls, they're beautiful, but I've also heard a lot about Gotz Hannah.

What should I go for? Dd is 6, 7 in Feb.

The Kidz n Catz dolls are very pricey and I didn't think they were anything more special than the Gotz dolls, not sure about sizing but the Puppen range looked lovely...

There was a nice website, Spanish / Portuguese perhaps that was linked to on MN once, something beginning with P I think, that had lots of beautiful dolls like this, see if you can find it, well worth it.

My DD is only 2.5yrs so is getting a basic Designafriend doll from Argos for a tenner this Xmas LOL but I cant wait til she is six and would appreciate a lovely doll like these

Hi, DD has had both. Both are great, both made in China although I hear Kidz n Cats are reverting back to German made later this year. Both are very nice for older girls, Kidz n cats have wigs rather than rooted hair and I think it keeps better but Hannah's hair is manageable. Kidz n cats have slightly older physiques and they have more joints so are more pose-able. Both have lovely faces, I think she'll be pleased whatever you pick but I would personally go with Kidz n Cats as she's nearly 7, as the doll is a bit older looking.

Have you seen the Gotz Happy Kidz dolls yet? They are jointed like Kidz N Cats but have fabulous hair like the Hannah dolls. They pose really well, their heads tilt and they look so cute. I have Emily and Sophie now but would like them all. I have Hannah too, she has a very pretty face. From Kidz n Cats we have the boy doll Alister. I buy from My Doll Best Friend's website, I don't know if they have a shop you can visit- www.mydollbestfriend.co.uk they offer loyalty points which is great when I go back for more because there's always a bit of a discount and when I looked around they also had the best prices. If you already know your daughter likes dolls because she has Les Cheries then it's worth the extra investment because they last for years. My two daughters 5, 8, play mostly with the bigger dolls, less now with their Les Cheries, they make up the shopkeepers who they have a quick interaction with!
