Playmobil 1-2-3

DS will be a week off turning 2 on Christmas Day. He loves Happyland now and plays endlessly with it. Is the Playmobil 1-2-3 any good? Will he be able to use it with bigger Playmobil when he moves on to that? I've been eyeing the Large Zoo set on Amazon but feel quite undecided...

Playmobil 123 is brilliant. My son has a large amount of it. It is really well made and withstands a lot.

The ark is his favourite but his main interest is animals, he likes to take all the animals out and take them to bed with him.

The only one I wouldn't recommend is the rocket because it is too difficult for my son to open by himself which frustrates him. He can't open it so he brings it to me to open but as soon as I do he clicks it closed again.

I believe it is compatible with the normal Playmobil but we don't have any yet to check. The people at least seem to be the same.

The grown up playmobil is very different, the people have removable hair etc it's unlikely they will play with the 123 stuff once they are old enough for the real deal!

The 123 stuff is fab though, we have lots of animals and train track.

If you've got happyland already you may want to stick to that, they are for similar ages.

We've got the 123 house and it's great. Comes with loads of stuff and is much better and played with more than the happy land stuff.

I wanted a house for ds that seemed unisex and it still gets played with all the time 3years on
