Thank you letters

Those with DC too young to write their own letters, do you write them as you, or as them?

I've always written them from myself, but she now wants to help and tell me what to write, and add their name/her name so it would be best to write them as her, but that feels a little weird.

My ds is only 15 weeks but I will not be doing this.

I find thank you cards are such an old expectation that I'm not going to make him.

This year we only received gifts for him from family and friends we talk to a lot so just said thank you to them. I will expect him to do this but I don't think I'll do cards anytime unless he wants to

I think it's sweet she wants to help, id let her help.

I wrote from until dc could scrawl their name, then I wrote from then and they signed, next time they wrote the words thank you and signed etc, my eldest now does them all, half and half with my youngest!

I love to get thankyou cards from the littleies. I think it teaches manners and appreciation at a young age. Even a little scribble makes me want to hug them tight

From some relatives kids I haven't had any notion of them recieving money I sent them. One even lost £10 through losing the cheque down the back of the sofa until it was out of date and her mum asked if I would mind replacing it!

We do a letter on the computer from both of our ds's with a few nice photos of them. They both write their own names and add kisses at the bottom (4and 7)

My elder DS (5) writes them, I tell him what to put, he writes it and signs from himself and little brother (2), enclosing a couple of photos. Goes down a storm!

Get them to do a picture. You do a letter and add in the picture whilst they are little?

We do letters and pictures as we don't see many of our friends and relatives. My DS7 did a letter on the PC this year adding in Christmas photos. He didn't moan about the torture of letter writing...

My DC1 is 4.5yo.

Last year she scribbled on the cards because she wanted to help, and I wrote them as her, this year she has drawn a lovely picture and written her name, so I also wrote them as her and DC2.

I get cards printed with a photo of my DCs on (14 mo's) and add a handwritten note underneath from me. I think sending written thank you's is ago of habit to get into and my relatives like reviving the pictures - next year hopefully they'll add a picture or scribble too.

I prob went ott but after my sad year apart from DD I did thank you cards for all our gifts and support from people with a picture of DD inside just to show how much we appreciated it.
People did seem to love them. I got thank you cards for thank you cards which wasnt my aim!!
