I have no idea, but could you borrow a friends/relatives oven that lives close by?

Helenagrace · 24/12/2012 11:17

Just put it in the slow cooker without the tinfoil. Chuck some coke or marmalade or sugar in with it and it'll be fine. Cook it on low for about 6 hours or so and it'll be delish.

its already glazed with muscovado sugar and honey and orange. the cooking instructions say to wrap in foil for a normal oven.

are you eating it today? If not why the panic, calm down put in slow cooker and it will cook just fine

SavoyCabbage · 24/12/2012 11:21

We do our ham in Christmas Eve and then you can have it for dinner (and breakfast) and frees up the oven on Christmas Day.

CherryTheRedNosedReindeer · 24/12/2012 11:29

no, not until boxing day, but i need to cook all the meat today. am not panicking, just have no room to store whole pieces of meat, only sliced up ones. will bung it in the slow cooker now, have ducks in the oven, and then a leg of lamb later.

ahh its the storage of it, did you get it all sorted?

CherryTheRedNosedReindeer · 26/12/2012 11:15

certainly did, discovered the coolbox in the back of the larder, so kept the ducks in there overnight, with the lamb and gammon sliced and plated in the fridge.

Don't wrap it in tin foil. Cover the bottom of the slow cooker with brown sugar, and dump the gammon in. Bloody lush. I did it for the first time last night, on the recommendation of MN, and it's my new favourite meat!

CherryTheRedNosedReindeer · 26/12/2012 11:39

i didnt wrap in foil in the end, just put in in the slow cooker on medium for about 4 hours. its lush.
