I would like to have said 7ish except DS thought that 4.10am was a perfectly acceptable time Angry and despite us telling him it was not time to get up he laid in bed whinging and whining for the next two hours!

Sorry for confusion Nat, am in England - my post was just referring to 'today' as in Xmas eve, and the fact I needed to turn my alarm off to avoid waking up so early on Xmas day!

In the end we didn't wake up until 7.30.

We looked it up... online it said that sunrise was 8:04 or something. The girls were then told "If it isn't light, it is too early to come through".
Normally, DD1 will sleep til gone 10 on a holiday and DD2 usually gets up at about half 8 on a weekend. (She slips down to bag the remote control to herself while everyone else is asleep!)

They had wanted to get up at about 5 as they were excited. Apparently they did wake earlier than that, but they kept themselves busy quietly in their room before it was time. Then they brought their stockings through to open in our room.

They came through at half 8. Not bad really.

My favourite morning was when DD1 was little. At about 6 there was a shout of "He's been" then "I'm going back to sleep for a bit" and she rolled over and had another hour or so of sleep before waking up to open her stocking.

I love my kids.
