I was going to make fudge but have realised the it needs to go in an air tight container and i only have selophane bags. So i need to make something else. Am doing 4 hampers and so far they have: hm marmalade, hm chutney, hm chili jam, wine, good coffee, hm shortbread and chocolate.

What can i do in place of fudge? I dont want to do peppermint cream as i know the recipients will be making some themselves.

Looking for something cost effective as I'm almost spent out and just discovered that i need to fork out on new fairy lights...apparently dh decided to cut the lights off the tree last year!

Cellophane bags will be fine, as long as you don't make the fudge too far in advance. Just seal them tightly and it will be OK.

Ooooh how far would be too far in advance? What if i made it tomorrow?

When are you delivering? Make the fudge, put in airtight till day before delivery - transfer to cellophane? Or is this getting complicated.

Cinder toffee?

Gingerbread biscuits? They last ages and are very easy to make and you can cut in Christmassy shapes.

Hmm i do have gingerbread dough in the fridge, i was going to make some men for us but i could give it as gifts.

Am delivering 2 on Saturday, 1 on xmas eve and another on xmas day. I could make fudge for the 2 closest to xmas and give the others gingerbread!

What's cinder toffee?

Thanks all!
