Well DM has invited her brother for Christmas day! As his children are off to another relatives he can't go.

Wonderful! Extra to cook for, can't lounge in my pjs and it's always a funny hit and miss day since DF died.
And I work most christmas'
DU is particularly hard work and I AM PISSED OFF!

Awfully uncharitable of me I know but he has a grown up family who are deserting him.

Help me sort myself out before it ruins my Christmas

I disagreed with the majority on that thread. I don't think it's on to invite tag along sisters/brothers. Not in your case, not on that thread either. Bloody rude if you ask me.

Me thinks lots of slugs of the pudding sherry/brandy/ or a stash of your fave christmas beverage will be in order on the day !

It's not uncharitable at all. I stopped having Christmas with thankless relatives a few years ago, so now I actually enjoy myself. I would be majorly peed off if someone announced that I had to cater for someone they had invited, without asking me.
