Scrabble. Usually me versus my mum and dad, but this is my first Christmas without them here on the actual day so I'm going to have to commandeer the ILs. The up side to this is that I can use all my Dad's usual sneaky 'words that nobody else knows are word until you get the dictionary out' on them and WIN for once.

Kids to bed around 9pm then cheese board, port and a fumble by the fire Xmas Wink

Normally try to ignore the soaps MIL insists on watching whilst wishing I was at home with nice food, Dr Who and my PJ's. Try to keep DD entertained whilst said soaps and other random shit MIL and SIL want to watch is on so she doens't make to much noise. Bite my lip when everyone complains they can't hear the TV because DD is whinging (but we are not allowed to leave with said overtired toddler). Then get back to hotel around 9:30 to try to convince DD to sleep whilst I polish off some red wine.

This year we are having our first Christmas at home so we will be watching Dr Who, drinking nice wine not the vile cheap white SIL insists on buying eating a lovely cheese board and playing with DD's new toys. I am sooooo stupidly excited, our first Christmas at home in the 10 years we have been together Xmas Grin

fuzzpig · 18/12/2012 18:31

Telly and chocolate and Baileys and perhaps some games. Can't wait Smile

I have got a couple of DC-friendly games (an orchard toys one and Animal upon Animal) so hopefully we will play those and maybe some of their crafty bits. But I got DH a Risk dice game so hopefully we will play that after they're in bed (they usually go at 7ish so should have some grown up time)Grin

SnowProbs · 18/12/2012 18:34

Eat, snooze, watch telly. Its all go, here Grin.

TV is a problem in our house as we all want to watch different things. So I'll probably take the DCs upstairs for stories and stay there till Dr Who is finished as none of us watch it then hopefully we can watch Downton together. Plus nibble chocs, mince pies etc and just potter about tidying up etc.

You know, I can't remember. Christmas Eve is the big night here. The day after is just eating, reading and watching.

Doshusallie · 18/12/2012 18:53

We are usually still sitting round the table after a big long massive lunch, playing games and drinking. Love it, so much fun.
