Mine is so fussy! I never know what to get her, she doesn't have any hobbies and doesn't appreciate sentimental gifts so I have no idea what to give her!!

OP posts:

Onesie, PJs and a Lush gift box

peeriebear · 16/12/2012 15:31

Call The Midwife book (she loved the series)
Beautiful Ducks photo book (she loves ducks)
Pendant of tiny seashells suspended in clear resin from Etsy (she loves seashells)
This is the first year for ages where I've not pulled my hair out trying to think of something.

I have got mine an amaryllis bulb in a pot for her to grow, a garden birds calendar and a face wipes/moisturiser gift set. I always get her the first 2 items so its a bit of a tradition.

StellaNova · 16/12/2012 15:32

Perfume. She requested it!

RobinsBaubleSparkles · 16/12/2012 15:34

The new Robbie Williams album
Rolling Stones' Greatest Hits
Voucher for clothes shop

defineme · 16/12/2012 15:38

I got mine the alarm clock and cd she asked for and some expensive hand cream that she likes.

Either get her stuff that you know she'll use eg her perfume or other beauty products that she uses, or maybe get her a voucher for something she would do. I got a friend a coffee shop voucher and a book. Pil have got afternoon tea voucher for stately home they like visiting. Have also got them cinema vouchers and pizza express before now as I know they go there.Tickets to a show?

Or ask your Dad if they're together?

notapizzaeater · 16/12/2012 15:44

SantasNaughtySack · 16/12/2012 15:54

I've got my mum a handbag (which I'm nervous about as the more time goes on, the less sure I am that she's going to like it Confused) and Tshirt with a sparkly studded skull on the front (which she'll definitely love Smile)

LaFataTurchina · 16/12/2012 16:13

I've got my mum a CD she asked for and one of those pretty thermal vests from uniqlo.

She's also got a coat from my dad but I'm the one who went to the shops to get it and will wrap it up nicely for her.

ChestyNutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 16/12/2012 16:52

marriednotdead · 16/12/2012 17:11

I've got mine thermal socks, boot type slippers, diabetic chocs, bookplates, a posh puzzle book, and ice grips for her shoes (she slipped on ice in February and broke her hip and arm so she's petrified now).

threeineachlobe · 16/12/2012 17:33

My mum doesn't like us spending much money on her - so best pressie was making compilation CD of her favourite songs. She's not so technical to do that herself.

Had to skillfully nick her CDs over a few weeks to do it.

She loved it - think it was the time, effort and planning rather than just grabbing something smelly from Body Shop.

PatTheHammer · 16/12/2012 17:55

Some pretty gardening gloves from Laura Ashley and a nice set of handcreams.

Does she like accessories like jewellery/scarves or a new purse or something?

HoHoHoMoreBaubles · 16/12/2012 18:12

My DM likes a selection of stuff, and would always rather have lots of bits to open, so I have bought her:
A black handbag
Fun's Album - Some Nights
a 2013 diary (she gets one every year)
3 different small boxes of chocolates - after 8s, toffifees and chocolate covered cherries soaked in kirsch
3 different shower gels
A scarf (that I will definitely steal may borrow)
Body lotion
Nail polish

I think that's it...

awaywego1 · 16/12/2012 20:45

A terramundi as she's saving to go to Australia.
A jumper
Body cream
Slippers

woopsidaisy · 17/12/2012 05:05
