Totally crackers - which ones are you getting (or making)?

As we are doing secret Santa for the adults, and we are hosting Christmas this year, I have decided to make some "luxury" crackers for the grown-ups.

I wanted to get the Jo Malone cracker for MIL but it was sold out, but inspired by that I have procured a miniature of her favourite perfume and will pop that in a cracker.

Others will get a mix of naice hand cream, miniature alcohol, Lindt choccies, and a £1 Christmas scratchcard. I've bought some mini jokes from Paperchase that are the right size.

Anyone else making crackers? What are you putting in them? Or have you found the perfect ones to buy?

Anyone fancy indulging in some cracker-porn?

I've just picked up some of the 'game' ones. Hope my family are ready for a tipsy game of 'Twister' this Christmas!

Love that you are making your own...are they easy to make and do you still get a 'bang'?

I'm going to do table presents instead I think, as crackers are such a rip off and I object to paying so much for packaging and a bit of plastic (tight wad). I'm thinking of just getting miniature alcohol bottles (but where do you actually buy these?) for the adults and Thorntons mini chocs or gold coins for the children.

I've bought some empty crackers (got some in a charity shop then got some more from Amazon) that have one end closed and the bang pre-inserted, so it is as easy as popping in the prize and joke, plus a hat, and tying up the open end.

Feck knows when I'll be able to make them though.

Supermarkets used to sell miniatures over the counter by the cigarettes, because their small size made them so nickable, I don't know if they still do.

I have made crackers in the past, when Sainsbury used to do make-your-own flat pack kits for about 3 quid for 6, snap already inserted and paper hats and jokes were included as well as name labels. I have to admit after a few years of doing it, it got a bit tiresome trying to find different things that would fit that the recipients would like.

I'm looking for some nice crackers but not too expensive. Would love to make them but really do not have the time ths year.

Where is a good place to buy some? We only need 7. 4 adults 3 children. Would rather no plastic crap-mybe puzzle/game/magic trick type thing?

We bought the sprout race crackers one year, I think from Hawkin's Bazaar. They went down well, if that helps?
