So exh having kids on boxing day and he wants it to be like a second Christmas day for them. I think its a bit over the top but hey, it can't do any harm right?
Anywho, DS really wants Skylanders Giants. I am not getting him this, his Dad (exh) is. So on actual christmas morning he will rush down excitedly to not find Skylanders under the tree.
I can picture the long face as he behaves like a spoilt brat wondering where his Skylanders are and asking if he can go straight to Daddy's to check whats at his house.
Should I get him a Skylander character for the game to open at my house? So then he knows the skylander thing must be at Daddy's??

Am I being crazy? This is the first year we are apart and there will be many strange new things to cope with.

How old is he? I think I would just tell him what is happening, so he doesn't get disappointed.
I would also squash any spoilt bratty behaviour before it starts.
Good luck

He's five and a half. So we're still carrying on the rouse that is Santa. We have discussed that Skylanders might go to Daddy's house. I just didn't want the day marred by him whining to go to Daddy's.

Could you leave a note from Santa saying he'll deliver it to Daddy's tomorrow?

I would buy him one figure as a hint to 'whats at daddy's'.

I have 3 step children (youngest is 13 now), they have been coming to us on boxing day sinse dsd was 4. For the first few years we did santa at both houses, they dsc's got way too much so eventualy we reduced it a little (was fun when they were little though). Now they are older they still come over for their 2nd christmas (as its tradition says dss). It has always worked well for us and now its fun for our younger dc's as they get a 2nd christmas when the step kids bring gifts for them on boxing day.

I'm sure your ds will have something exciting to open at yours and he wont even notice he hasn't got skylanders.

I'd buy a figure and leave a letter from Santa explaining that the rest of it is at daddy's. That way he'll be over the moon that Santa wrote him a note AND won't be disappointed thinking he didn't get it.
