I've always waited until a week before Christmas, before putting my fresh tree up. But could it go up earlier? I have one of those stands that you can water it. What's the earliest you'd put a read one up please?

Ours went up yesterday.

We've never had a problem with the tree lasting, as long as it is the non needle-drop variety.

Ours went up Friday night, we always put it up then. We have Norway Spruce and its always totally fine, still perfect when it goes down at New year.

Oh that's good to know, thanks. Is the spruce the one with the short needles or long needles?

Get one still in a pot. It's a bit more expensive, but it saves in the long run. We have had ours 8 years now - it lives out in the garden for all of the rest of the year and comes in for December.

Any tree you buy in December will have ALREADY been cut by now....so as long as it is kept watered and not too hot it will last just fine...
