Thinking of doing this for gift wrapping this year with either candy cane, holly sprig, cinnamon sticks but where's the best places to buy the brown paper and oodles of nice ribbon?

There's loads of free printable sheet music online.

This year we are (oh hahahaha, as if DH helps to wrap!) using brown paper (wilkinsons) and a mixture of red and white ribbons and twine. I got really pretty (20 in a pack) gift tages from poundland.

I attach a small felt decoration onto each persons 'big' present.

I'm doing brown paper this year with either black or gold ribbon which has been printed with the winter wonderland lyrics on one and we wish you a merry c
Christmas on the other....

My friend does personalised ribbon which is always a hit with all....

I sometimes feel 'why do I bother' but I get a lot of joy out of making things look pretty so that's a good enough reason for me :)

You will most probably find sealing wax in an independent stationery/art shop. They sell it in ebay in many colours. WH Smiths used to sell it, they may still. In London, Liberty, John Leiws Harrods etc all do it.

Added advantages for us:
DD loves the ribbon nearly as much as the contents
and the guinea pigs can go mad with the brown paper!

though my good intentions usually run out after the sixth or so present and we resort to cheapo Santa paper instead

I thought I was alone in my geeky love for wrapping! Love brown paper with really bright wide ribbon and skinny contrasting ribbon on top. Also love the tartan look on the brown paper. Always but my paper at the post office. And the doilies look pretty too.
Old stamps lined up look really cute, raffia stringy stuff, twine with buttons and beads threaded on all look lovely.
I do it for the kids too, don't care if they appreciate it or not, I enjoy it Blush

I wonder if melting a crayon would work as well as sealing wax?
