So I've had a major blow out this Christmas, not sure why, but kept thinking what the hex, and bought it anyway. DD (4 yo) has a bike, Innotab and Furby. Plus a handful of biggest bike accessories. DS (7 yo) has a laptop, printer, Bop it and Furby.
I thought I was done then suddenly thought bugger I've not really got 'stocking fillers'. What can I buy that isn't going to be too much but isn't tat either?

Kirstoll · 01/12/2012 18:47

Taffeta · 01/12/2012 18:51

V naice felt tips for DS
Moshi crap x loads for DD

kissmyheathenass · 01/12/2012 20:20

Also, our local party shop sells lots of jokes - whoopee cushions, stink bombs etc for less than a pound each so I will get a few of those.

kissmyheathenass · 01/12/2012 20:22

oops! wrong thread!
For stockings, I have lots of books - cheap from Book People.
DVDs - new but from ebay - very cheap
Poundland or Wilkinsons for toiletries, bath bombs lip gloss etc

EverybodysSnowyEyed · 01/12/2012 20:26

clementines - every child should have a citrus fruit in their stocking! It was the highlight of DS' christmas last year and he ate it for breakfast!

I always loved my stocking as a kid because there were always a few good things and then a handful of random stuff that my dad would fill it up with - a handful of nuts, a handful of coppers, random fruit, things he had salvaged from work

DameFanny · 01/12/2012 21:00

Put the bike accessories in the stocking, ditto printer cartridge for dd. And get dd some headphones so you don't have to listen to the club penguin theme for hours on end...

Flojo1979 · 01/12/2012 21:33

Liking the headphone idea!
Got books but DDs are too big for stocking.
Will put a satuma in each as usual and chocolate coins.
Like the watch idea, might see if I can get a couple of snap watches.
And the bath ideas, maybe a bath toy each, bubbles and a flannel.
Oh fab, I've got a loads of great ideas here thankyou so much!

I got some new tangle teezers for the DDs, notebooks, hello kitty waterbottle, lush bath bombs, slipper socks from accessorize, onesies from Next and M&S - moshi monster!, moshi figures, compact mirror, popcorn holders, shakeaway and cinema vouchers, calendars, squeezy shower gel, sketch pad, paint palette and paints, posh felt tips, glittery card, marbling inks, reading lights, hot chocolate from hotel chocolat which comes in big tubs, pillow pets, and loads of other stuff I can't think of now!
Actually, I think I could probably stop buying stuff now - they're so easy to buy for at this age I think!

HeathRobinson · 01/12/2012 21:44

'DDs are too big for stocking' Shock

Mine are 16 and 13 and would miss their stocking if I didn't do it.
Does everyone else stop?

5madthings they were from a little independent stationers, dds love it in there, its a proper Aladdins cave! Amazon also sell them if you cant find them elsewhere I think.

5madthings · 02/12/2012 01:00

Thanks shall.have a look on amazon :)

HeathRobinson · 02/12/2012 10:50

Ah, sorry, misreading. Smile

5madthings · 02/12/2012 11:07

bedmonster amazon has loads and have now ordered some!

HeathRobinson · 02/12/2012 13:13

How about some smakll animals or a Schleich horse? Good size for little fingers.

5madthings · 02/12/2012 13:20

oh yes the schleich animals are fab we have most of them! we have collected them over the years since ds1 was little and now have a massive collection. we also have their fairies and the knights and the pirates and the cowboy and indian figured and the safar set! they are expensive but some of ours are 12yrs old and all are fine. the kids get hours of play out of them and i see no reason why i wont be able to keep them for grandchildren as they dont break. or if i wanted i could sell them in various sets on ebay.

Flojo1979 · 02/12/2012 17:26

Aww I want to collect them now!
