How do you display your cards?

My mum blutacks hers to the wall, we used to have ours on the mantelpiece and windowsill but with a 2yr old around I need that space for putting hot drinks out of the way!

Ideas please oh wise and gorgeous mumsnetters!

There are loads of christmas card holders in snowman/star shapes ect. I usually pin string to the walls and have them in slight semi circles through the hallway. Get loads with 2 dc at primary school thats 65 right there from them to.

I blue tac most of mine on the back of our door into the lounge, so when we are in the lounge we can see them. Family ones go on bookcase, either on shelf or blue tac depending on size.

AppleOgies · 01/12/2012 18:29

Another blu tac to door person here!

ChristmasCountdown · 01/12/2012 19:16

Exactly the same as LittleMissChristmas. I used to get some sticky double sided tape designed to stick to the walls from Lakeland but last year it ripped a chunk of paint away. We had to redecorate so nothing is getting stuck or pinned to the walls now!

DH has some nails in the corners of the walls. I string them along a length of silver raffia and hang them on the wall, as our walls are pretty blank.

I staple them on to strips of crepe paper or ribbon (which match tree decs colour scheme!) and hang them vertically on lounge walls. It's what my mum always did and I do the same.Gets nice and christmassy as w egt more, then the lounge looks huge when we take them all down!

ojbsmum · 01/12/2012 22:17

Really should have previewed that! Sorry - getting too excited!

BabysPointlessPocket · 01/12/2012 22:18

Blu tac to walls, but we are decorating (at last) after Xmas so I don't mind. Won't do that next year though, need a plan b

HappyTurquoise · 01/12/2012 22:30

My mum had interior glass doors and would blu tac them (to both sides) of the glass.
Somewhere I've got a Cox & Cox chain with clips which hangs across a curtain rail, and looks rather fetching (When I find it...when I unpacked the decorations boxes earlier a little plastic Christmas tree was in its box. :( ) Can only fit 15 cards on it, any more go on window sills.

UniS · 01/12/2012 22:55

blue tac to the banister rails.

in the last house I taced them onto doors.

popcornpaws · 01/12/2012 23:48

family cards on display on the mantlepiece, all others on a metal card holder that is a silver xmas tree that holds around 30 cards.

kaumana · 01/12/2012 23:55

Be careful in using blue tac on painted walls as it will leave a stain.

BabysPointlessPocket · 02/12/2012 08:52

It's never left a stain on our walls kaumana, although it has pulled paint off when removing. But as I said (finally after over 5 years of living here) we are decorating after Xmas.
I really love having them on the wall, their festive pictures are part of the whole room decoration.
I'm not in the meanie club that has stopped sending them for whatever reason, I love sending and receiving them.
