Hi my ds is farming mad - pinches dhs Farmers Weekly as soon as the post arrives so I thought about getting him his own mag.

Does anyone know of a magazine which could be suitable?

What is it he particularly likes in FW ? There is, for instance, a bewildering array of tractor magazines (I only know as my local garage has a bigger section for tractor magazines than for comics). At that sort of age, I had a subscription to Fancy Fowl. And posters of dairy breeds of the UK Blush

Tractors, diggers, any sort of machinery .......oh and cows Grin. I'm really after something that is aimed at children - a sort of farming comic I suppose.

Mine at that age was Horse and Pony mag Smile

There was one of those incredibly expensive weekly collectible magazines earlier in the year called "my animal farm" worth a google perhaps.

I know the one you mean but I refuse to pay that sort of money Shock £300 to complete........thats if they don't cancel it half way through

I can't think of any child ones. Ds used to get a tractor and jcb magazine. The novelty soon wore off though. I did get to learn every type of tractor and construction vehicle. Could you get him a wh smith voucher so that way each month/week you can go and buy a magazine. That way he can change which one he buys. Ds used to like an animal or train one too

Hmmm... I think smallholders might not thank me for this, but perhaps one of the smallholding mags might do? They cover a bit of everything, including small machinery, though major on chickens, pigs, bees and grow your own. The projects might be a bit more realistic for a 6 yr old though.

Oh that might be an idea - thing is he has asd and is obsessed with things coming in the post. I have spent hours on the freebie websites so that he gets a parcel or something at least once a week. The idea that a magazine just for him could arrive in the post would be beyond rubies Grin.

I have found one in America but its only published 4 times a year not often enough
