I just found one of these christmas puds at the back at the cupboard left over from last year. The best before date says sept 2012, will it be ok to have this year? I wouldn't normally consider eating something that was 2 months out of date but for some reason I'm tryin gto convince myself that it'll be fine due to the nature of it's ingredients?!?!? ... what do you think?

It's best before, not eat by. In my experience Christmas pud, fruit cake etc get better and better with age.

personally i think i would with christmas pudding, and i am quite fussy with such things Blush. i thought that they were supposed to be better the longer you keep them? i am sure i remember my great gran making puds and keeping one back for next year!

It will be absolutely fine, even next year.

hurrah! can't believe we were so full last year that we could only manage the mince pies after dinner, usually I have both Blush!
