Was just wondering if anyone had ordered from them before and what the turkey was like compared to say Waitrose or M&S? Had a brochure through the other day and the turkey looked ok and a reasonable price but i dont want to risk having something not so nice with lots of people coming round for lunch!

We had one last year and have placed our order for this year too. I have to admit that cooking/ prepping it is entirely Dh's domain so can't comment on that, but taste wise we all liked it. Very well packaged as well. All very easy as it arrives on the door step too - can't go wrong imo!

oh see you're tempting me now with the thought of not having to get up obscenely early on xmas eve to go and do battle with the queues in waitrose. we usually only get a crown anyway as no-one likes the legs. did they deliver quite close to christmas? think i will have to investigate further. DH (like yours) will be doing all the cooking but i still feel responsible!

We had one last year - delivered to the door at 8am on Christmas Eve. It was yummy!

Yes delivery was v close to Christmas, could even have been Xmas eve as mentioned above. The only thing is, when you look at all their other distractions lovely things, you get far too tempted to buy more goodies!

Belatedly coming on to say yes these are delicious in our experience, and their Xmas veg box, though expensive, is also a nice treat (insofar as veg can ever be a treat).

We have a Riverford Turkey every year- 100 times better than an m and s one.
Abel and Coole have gone downhill since they were sold to Lloyds bank and are no longer all organic. Riverford is cheaper too as they are an actual farm and produce their own stuff- we are big Riverford fans inour house :-)
