I've not received an email yet, despite signing up to delivery saver. Just called up Tesco though and emails are going out today. However, I logged on to the website and the slots are now there for booking. My order for Christmas is now booked. Phew!

Get them while you can.

Starlight Priority goes to those who paid for the delivery saver service, where you pay your delivery charges up front for a certain period of time.

Yes, I know. It's really not very fair at all.

How do you get the slots? Mine is only showing up to December 16th?

CouthyMowEatingBraiiiiinz · 26/11/2012 22:01

So let me get this straight. Because I can't afford to pay for my deliveries upfront, I can't get a delivery slot when I will need one?

The reason I need it delivered is because I'm disabled and can't get that amount of shopping home, and the reason I can't pay for delivery upfront is because I'm disabled and don't work.

Tesco are fucking bastards. What will be the closest delivery to Christmas I can get if I don't pay for delivery upfront? If it's anything earlier than Friday 21st, it's not going to be any good for me, because a) the food won't last until I next get paid, and b) as my benefits payment would usually be due on Christmas Day, the earliest I will get that payment is midnight on the Thursday / Friday.

Fuck. What am I meant to do now?!

CouthyMowEatingBraiiiiinz · 26/11/2012 22:03

By midnight on the Thursday / Friday, I mean that the money will be in my account to PAY for the shopping and delivery at 00:01 on the 21st, and not before. WTF do I do?

I'm not fit enough to do what I usually do and do it at night by taxi anymore, I've got much worse physically in the last year. Sad

I paid £60 for the saver delivery for 6 months, because the slot I need them to deliver in costs me £6. So if I use them 10 or more times in 6 months I get it free. The Christmas delivery priority I had forgotten all about until I read this thread and checked this morning.
The only thing to watch out for is that it renews automatically, I have a note in my diary to remind me to cancel or allow the renew, but tbh I've used the delivery way more than that already.

I do an Internet shop 2-3 times monthly but I vary my supermarket!

How many days does milk last in the fridge? I can't put it in the freezer because there won't be any room, and my only solution means buying milk on the 19th and expecting it to last until the 27th...

CoolaSchmoola · 27/11/2012 01:07

Buy Cravendale or shops own brand pure filter and it will last at least two weeks, so you would be absolutely fine. Tastes better too IMO.

Thank you!
