I'm getting mine new water bottles for school, and maybe new lunch boxes. DD1 is getting one of those lights that you fix onto a book, and dd2 is getting a new umbrella. Last year they had hotties in their stockings - it was their favourite present! The rest is all fun stuff, I think.

Takver · 25/11/2012 17:57

DD is getting a pretty sponge bag, probably some long woolly socks if I can find some nice ones, some fineliner pens that she wants

Takver · 25/11/2012 17:57

Water bottle is a good idea, dd would like a new one to go on her bike

MsElleTow · 25/11/2012 18:06

mini hot water bottle. I got one in Wilko's sale after Christmas last year.

Gloves
Scarf
Funky socks

DameFanny · 25/11/2012 18:12

books - i have got her a Jacqueline Wilson actual diary - last year i got her an address book, which has been very handy. also got her the Dork Diaries bookset.

i got her a hair turban towel thing in Primark for a pound.
false nails ditto

bath bombs- superdrug

pretty flannel done up like an ice-cream - boots

nail files

scarf and beret set

more books and one dvd.

snow globe

what about an annual? last year i got her the Horrid Henry one and it kept her going for ages.

I'm looking for ideas too.

pecans · 25/11/2012 21:06

early hot water bottles!

twolittledarlings · 25/11/2012 22:36

Thank you all. Lots of ideas there.

Umbrella - am looking for a good one as dd11 needs a new one. Looking to find a sturdy one which does not fold/ invert in the wind.

Toothbrush - she has just started to wear braces so need special ones which has got a few spare of.

Will get toothpaste and socks. Looking to get nice fluffy ones. Not found yet.

Annuals - they each have 3 of - One Direction, Little Mix, Horrible Histories, Club Penguin, Tracy Beaker and Moshi Monsters,

Forgot, also have got them 3 x 5 packs of Moshi Moshlings

Mini stapler - good idea, will get

iTunes gift card, also good idea as they may like odd songs from individual artist rather than whoe albums which I buy for them

Have got them 2 years ago the microwaveable cuddles, interlex ones. They have 3 each which they use every night. Safer than actual hot water bottles I think.

They have loads of stationary stuff including pritt stick and tipped as we really stock up on those.

I also last year got them each an automatic pencil sharpener which are really handy. Got from Amazon. Also last year, they had kids plasters, glow sticks/bracelets etc, lipbalms, hair turbans, shower caps, usual undies, iPod covers and headphones, stylus pens, Moshi watch, bath gel, wind up torch,

Love the water bottle idea as dd11 needs a nice teenager one.

Have used most of these ideas already as last year, I made my own advent calendar and bought loads of stuff and split into 24 bags or 48 bags as have 2dd.

Each day, they open a bag and inside had about 4-6 items of these things mentioned therefore still lots of stuff i.e. stationary, hair stuff, etc still left to use hence having problems now. Cost more than normal advent but things were useful and got loads mainly from Wilkinson, pound shop amongst others.

Pls keep the ideas coming. Thank you.

DD is 11 and will be getting some of the following
choc coins
selection box
diary
pants and socks
some Wenlock Olympic stuff (she loves it and it's well cheap now!)
bubble bath/bath bubbler from Lush
shampoo
stationery bits always v popular
calendar
bracelet in a bag - a friend puts these together, lovely beads and elastic and a charm to make your own bracelet, very sweet.
New case for mobile phone
case for new camera
mni cross stitch kit

I find her the easiest person BY FAR on my Christmas list tbh, I could think of more things to buy for her than everyone else put together

pecans · 26/11/2012 08:00

Wellington socks would be good - haven't found any yet though. Personalised flannel (see bargain thread). New hairbrush. Claire's Accessories bag for nail varnish. Mirror. Onesie.

baskingseals · 26/11/2012 08:48

agree with Clary - i find dd so easy to buy for.

also thought of a nice pencil case and wallet. also got her a 3d jigsaw puzzle last year which she loved. shimmery butterfly one in a tin.

french skipping elastic is quite fun.

spottymoo · 26/11/2012 10:58

Coun purse
Wrist warmers
Lush bath bomb

Need a few more bits to fill it out

LettyAshton · 26/11/2012 13:49

bedmonster · 26/11/2012 20:22

Round here, we have a shop called Tiger and it's full of random unusual but useful little bits and pieces. I have managed to get things for all 3DC stockings in here, including a sketchpad, watercolours and a paint palette, wooden puzzles, pretty cushions and pillows, cake tins, pens, photo frames, loads and loads more. It's brilliant, think they have a website, not sure how to link though.
Just google tiger, it's worth a trip if they're local.
