Morning all :)

I have a kindle in my basket, ready to go :o

Nice to see some Lego finally, but the sets aren't as good as last years by the looks of it :(

What will you have in your basket today?

I Do Not Need A Kindle. (repeat as necessary)

Work later so need to leave strict instructions gor DH.

So far i have my eye on....

Electric blankets. (i'd like but don't need)
Socks (DHs stocking)
Sad light (i need but depends on price)
Cat food thing (for kitten)
Clothes dryer (woohoo. Exciting)

And maybe possibly the laptop. Want to get one for DD2. Depends on price.

PrattingAroundTheChristmasTree · 23/11/2012 08:07

I'm even considering housework so that I don't buy anything! Shock

SoupDragon · 23/11/2012 08:07

I am going to go for the TV at 10:30 (no chance!) and possibly a microchip catflap at 3:45 (although it will mean getting one cat chipped as hers has failed)

MustafaCake · 23/11/2012 08:09

bagpuss can I ask whether you think that lego ninjago set would be OK for a 5 year old? Or is it for much older kids?

DS is a huge lego fan, able to build the lego city stuff that says from age 5 or 6.

Thanks!

NoSoggyBottoms · 23/11/2012 08:09

After debating it with DP, Bish is back on the shelf!

Marne · 23/11/2012 08:09

Nothing i want this morning, i hope they add a few more things as i'm stuck in with poorly child and need something to keep be entertained. Might go for the Jelly beans later and maybe a lego set. Most of the tos seem to be for younger children (would like to see more nerf guns and crafty items), wish my dd's were a bit younger as would love a scuttle bug Smile.

Also anoyed that there are more blue rays and 3D DVD's rather than normal DVD's Sad.

whatkungfuthat · 23/11/2012 08:13

Poor Bish was it the blinding teeth? Grin

NoSoggyBottoms · 23/11/2012 08:15

Marne I've also noticed that theres more blu-ray/3D than normal...very annoying. My Dad is the only one I know who has a blu-ray player. I don't know anyone who has 3D.....Isn't the Lee Evans later 3D?

NoSoggyBottoms · 23/11/2012 08:16

lol whatkungfuthat Grin

ClaimedByMe · 23/11/2012 08:16

I want the legoman clock but it's on at school run time, the electric toothbrush, the bic pens in my dreams and jelly beans

PrattingAroundTheChristmasTree · 23/11/2012 08:16

I know Marne, we can only have dvds or videos. The only people I know with blue ray or 3D tv is my nan and my dad.

NoSoggyBottoms · 23/11/2012 08:19

Pratting...why is the older generation are getting the latest tech? Your Dad and Nan...my Dad...!!

BeedleTheBard · 23/11/2012 08:22

My parents have just got a blue ray too (we haven't)

LalaDipsey · 23/11/2012 08:29

Ok so help me out - do I need a kindle?! I have an iPhone so always thought one day when I win the lottery I would get an ipad so it would sync but I have just been given £100 for my birthday which conveniently would get me a kindle.... How would it change my life?!?!

PrattingAroundTheChristmasTree · 23/11/2012 08:29

Grin no idea!

PrattingAroundTheChristmasTree · 23/11/2012 08:31

Can you get the kindle app on your Iphone Lala? If you want a kindle, go for it Grin

whatkungfuthat · 23/11/2012 08:35

I've got the app on my android and it is really too small to read much comfortably. I caved and went ahead and bought the kindle. Will hide it till xmas and see what happens.

WhispersOfWickedness · 23/11/2012 08:41

Ooo, it's got busy since I was last here!

Lala, I would hold out for an iPad if I were you, it does a lot more than the fire. We are getting a fire for technology phobic PIL, it's about all they could cope with Grin

We've had a blu-ray for a few yearsBlush But only because it is an added feature of the PS3 Grin

Preschool run now, back in 30 min Grin

DinosaursOnAnAdventCalender · 23/11/2012 08:46

I bought the kindle fire last night for £99 ( had to buy the wall charger seperate though) and now I'm a bit worried I've jumped in to soon and that its going to come up cheaper today.

I'd quite like to get my boys one of those orange watches each, shame they only have them in one colour though. There will be arguing ahead.

Some of the DVD box sets look quite good, need normal DVDs though not blu ray or 3d.

I was wandering about the Lego set, ningathingy but I am sick of picking bits of Lego and other crap from their bedroom floor.

BrianAndHisBalls · 23/11/2012 08:48

is the kindle fire any good as a tablet? we were supposed to be buying nexus 7s for the dc but the fire is v tempting at £99, anyone know if they run all the normal apps etc?

Kveta · 23/11/2012 08:49

I am not inspired by today's selection. maybe some of the books and dvds at 8pm, but it's quite shit until then. definitely not as good as last year!

aimingtobeaperfectionist · 23/11/2012 08:50

I know you're all busy getting bargains out there but can someone PLEASE explain how it works?! I need these bargains and am too thick to work it out myself

NoSoggyBottoms · 23/11/2012 08:53

aimingtobeaperfectionist you mean how does the Amazon Black Friday work?

LalaDipsey · 23/11/2012 08:54

Ok so my dilemma...... I have enough Clubcard points to get an iPad..... However am about to split with H and should really save my points to replace stuff I am bound to lose - he will certainly take the TV since he is surgically attached to it much more than me and dc it seems!
However... Could save the bday £100 towards stuff, not buy the kindle and get an iPad?! Now I know there's a kindle app it means I can read on an iPad yes? Will it mean I can get books instantly onto an iPad without connecting to a pc? Thanks!!!

SlightlySuperiorPeasant · 23/11/2012 08:54

They run Amazon apps but not Apple ones IIRC.

The battery life on the Kindle Fire is pants. If I wanted an e-reader I'd get a standard Kindle. If I wanted a tablet I'd get an iPad. If I wanted both I'd get an iPad Mini and download the Kindle app.

My opinion might have been different if the discount today had been a bit better :o
