So each year I get DH an item which he has to guess what it's for! previous buys have been square eggs garlic peeler . Item is gift wrapped but with no packaging or instructions and no Internet access either.

However this year I'm stumped, anyone got ideas?

Avocado slicer? Mushroom brush? Gadget for taking the spidery bit out of strawberries? The Lakeland catalogue is full of tiny gadgets.

I stomped a few people when I gave them out a few years ago ....

What about these - would be confusing with no packaging!

I use these mosquito sting relief clicker things a lot and people always ask me what they are:

www.amazon.co.uk/Zapperclick-44333-Mosquito-Bite-Relief/dp/B000KU74K4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353513065&sr=8-1

only really useful if you are going to a hot country soon though

(and yes, they do really work!)

MummyAbroad · 21/11/2012 15:52

PS I have a pineapple corer thing, and they are rubbish, it just comes out all mushy, only good for juicing.

Rosa · 21/11/2012 15:53

If you can't find them I can get them like they are going out of fashion - they tend to have a stone / bit of glass in them though.....let me know

FlyOverTheMistletoe · 22/11/2012 23:16

katz thank you - for this thread, as this year I'm buying stuff for gadget freaks lovers, and I'm clueless, so hopefully I will be mystified on christmas day about what to do with something different Smile

hdoodle · 23/11/2012 00:00

corn peeler

ravioli stamp

cake tester

cupcake corer

I love obscure kitchen gadgets!

Peanutbutterfingers · 23/11/2012 09:13

I have one of these

He'll never guess.

I saw it on tv couple years ago, ordered immediately. Never used Grin

KatzGold · 23/11/2012 19:18

hdoodle - the cupcake corer could be perfect plus i'll actually use it afterwards!

OP posts:
hdoodle · 24/11/2012 11:22

garlic zoom

ice cream maker

What do you put in your cupcakes, Katz?

KatzGold · 25/11/2012 08:56

Hdoodle - I make a triple lemon cake which is a lemon sponge with lemon icing and extra zesty lemon curd, I also put jam in the middle of plain sponge ones. I've also put caramel in chocolate ones too.

hdoodle · 25/11/2012 15:26

That sounds divine!!!

KatzGold · 25/11/2012 16:34

They're very good, even if I do say so myself!
