I am bumping this as I have the same query.

DS is nearly 8. Has the Maxi micro but wants a stunt scooter.

My ds just had his 7th birthday and we got him a Mad gear Pro (2011 version) was about £80 delivered. So much better than his old Razor scooter.

The MGP pro is a good stunt scooter and I would say it fits the bill perfectly. They have much kudos at school too. Really hardwearing and no bits to fall off. DD has had hers a year now and it's scratched to buggery but still as solid as the day she bought it. Her Micro Sprite lasted 6 months before it fell apart. Hmm. The 2011 design is around £80 on the internet, the 2012 one is £100. If you stretch to another £10 each, I think you'll be pleased.

Paintwork and I think the official blurb said the newer one was a bit lighter. The blue one's nice. Good choice.

Ds has 2 slamm scooters, have seen a few of the Mgp ones about though. Think we got his first one from Kate's skates.

WeAllHaveWings · 14/11/2012 20:25

not sure if it's still working but code SKATES12 gave me 10% off at skates.co.uk. If that doesnt work 5OFF will give you £5 off.

scabbysnake · 14/11/2012 20:46

thats fab!!! thanx WeAllHaveWings Grin just need to causally ask the boys what colour they like best!

Has anyone got the micro stunt scooter? m.micro-scooters.co.uk/product/mx-trixx-scooter/. They're mini & maxis are great so wondered if this was worth buying??

Ilovecake1 · 17/11/2012 07:35

Hi, both(7&6) of mine have a grit scooter...retailed at £100 each but as we bought 2, we had £20 off! The beauty of these and what my children love is they we able to customise it and have the colours they wanted for the baseplate, handles etc.

TheHouseofMirth · 17/11/2012 09:18

After doing tonnes of research (and having several email convos with a couple of online suppliers) for DS1's 7th birthday we got him a Razor Ultra Lo pro which has been excellent. Because he is 7 and is taking the jumping thing quite seriously we opted for one which doesn't fold as it's much stronger, obviously. You also need to remember they're a bit heavier than you're used to and the handle bars rotate 360 degrees.

Jacaqueen · 17/11/2012 09:53

Thanks for all the information.

I had no idea it was all so complicated. DS1 was never into scooters so this is all new to me.

I will make some subtle enquiries with DS2 re colours etc and order one over the weekend.
