IKEA wooden train track - compatible alternatives ?

A lovely friend bought DS IKEA wooden train track & trains etc. We could do with some extra track but its a long way to go just for that - is any other make compatible with it ???

We've got a mix of Ikea and donated Brio and it all fits together

Most other wooden track e.g tesco, brio etc will be compatible with the ikea stuff. Ebay is often quite good for large boxes of wooden track, as they are heavy they are normally collection only, but that does mean you can get a bargain if there are many people bidding against you.

Brio, Tesco, toys r us and the normal track (not Thomas) from ELC all works together.

IKEA is the cheapest though.
