Kindle Fire or Nexus 7?

Does anyone own either of the above? Could you let me know their pros/cons? Thinking about getting one for Christmas but can't decide. Would be really good to get some views. Thanks

Kindle Fire you can only buy stuff from Amazon's Appstore, which is a much smaller subset of those available on the Google Play Store.
