Just that really and are you bothering?- with the cost of stamps.

The cost of postage is indeed horrific. I am spending the money I would have spent on postage on a big pre Christmas party which I shall invite many of my Christmas card recipients to, and hand them their cards.

OUR LOCal sells everything /hard ware shop, or anywhere that has a good deal.

slartybartfast · 29/10/2012 08:41

but that is a good point about the high cost of stamps,

MySecretSelf · 29/10/2012 09:10

I get mine direct from Amnesty - I'm planning to cull my list this year following the hike in postage. I'd be happy to get fewer cards this year too, I always struggle to hang them anywhere. We rede orated this year too, so I don't want to risk marking the walls.

SilkStalkings · 29/10/2012 09:43

Taffraid - but your guests won't have their hands free for drinks and nibbles thenGrin

Taffraid · 29/10/2012 09:45

Ah yes good point Silk - I shall give them the cards as they stagger out leave

Buy them direct from charities, usually via charity shops. I stock up on stamps in advance of any price rise and also slip a pack onto my Ocado order every week, don't notice the cost so much that way. I still like sending and receiving them, but quite understand if people are cutting back due to the cost. We still seem to get more every year at the moment, but I think that is because the children keep bringing more home form school.

We have a coiled wire Christmas tree shaped holder which goes on the mantlepiece and holds about 100 cards, so storage isn't a problem for us.

OhTheConfusion · 29/10/2012 11:26

We normally buy about 140 charity cards and post 100 of them. This year I bought 80 to save on the silly postage :( 50p a 2nd class stamp is just terrible!

InvasionOfTheBodyShatners · 29/10/2012 11:29

I always get them in British Heart Foundation.

HappyAsEyeAm · 29/10/2012 20:56

Every year, I buy cards in the after Christmas half price sale in Cards Galore. And I always buy British Heart Foundation cards, because their cards are really lovely, and I prefer buying charity cards.

Some0ne · 02/11/2012 17:23

I was bold and got Aldi ones last week Blush I got 20 for ?1.69 or something daft like that, and that's all I'm sending. I'd rather just give directly to a charity, and the one I have in mind doesn't appear to be selling cards this year.

mignonette · 02/11/2012 17:24

I never send cards. I buy those teeny tiny boxed cards in the January sales and use them as gift tags instead.

Sulfur · 02/11/2012 17:36

I get mine from Tearfund

NPUsesSparklersLikeARebel · 02/11/2012 20:03

I get mine from Next.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 02/11/2012 21:02

Lots of places.

The last two years I've reused toddler 'art' to make them.
