Plain Lights

Do you think plain lights are more tasteful than shaded ones in the form of lanters, bells and flowers like Noma 'Pickwick'. Just wondered whether shaded lights were deemed outdated and tacky? I like some of the new led ones as they have dramatically improved now so you can get warm white instead of ice white.

That should of read lanterns not lanters lol

I prefer plain white lights, but that doesn't mean the shaded ones are less tasteful. If you are having retro decorations they fit right in.

My tree is so laden with decorations the lights are really only there to make them sparkle.

I like plain white lights - but MUCH prefer the old bulb lights to the LED ones - though we have seen some with the old bulb shape (and LED inside it) which we are going to try this year - LED ones give too much of a pinpoint of light - I like the more diffused light the little bulbs give...
