Chanukah Thread :D

I know this is the Christmas section, but damn it I'll add a Chanukah thread for all those who like eating fried food and having 8 days of presents

Us :) Because of the dates this year (and complex family/work etc dynamics) we will have to somehow celebrate Channukah, Christmas and the Dutch Sinterklaas... Needless to say my 3 year old is more excited about Decmeber than I am

Could I ask what you do to celebrate it? I find it very interesting (and I'm a bit nosy!)

I'm not the most religious, but to celebrate the 8 days of Chanukah I:

• Light a candle each night so after 8 nights I have all 8 candles lit

• Eat fried food, so lots of fried potato rostis (latkas) and doughnuts

• Get a present each night

To be honest every Jewish holiday happens for the same reason:

Someone tries to kill the Jews, the Jews survive, we celebrate :)
