what do I get my 20month old dd this Christmas!!? anyone got dd's a similar age? What are you buying? My dd has most things a child that age would want :-/

Anyone know of any cool new toys young ones are going mad for?

"cool new toys young ones are going mad for"?? Hmm

She's 20 months - you get her what you think she'll benefit from, not "cool new toys" - how about PJs, clothes, books, nursery rhyme CDs for the car, starter jigsaws?

If you want to get her toys, go with generic toys that will have longer lasting appeal - duplo, doll's pram etc.

Seriously though - if your DD has most things that a child that age would want, then scale back your buying, focus on clothes, or maybe even bedding. Don't just buy her for buying's sake.

Agree with Babylon, my dd is 19 months and the only thing she plays with is her baby doll. We will prob get a basic baby annabel and a pram and that's about it. She only ever wants what her big brother has anyway Smile
Books, play dough kits, duplo, stuff like that is always good.
Def don't panic at this stage, just wait for another few years for that joy Wink

Her grandparents buy her all her clothes, had to put some in the garage as there's no space in the house, she has perfectly adequate bedding :-/ ... weird to buy a child bedding for Christmas! She has the toys you've named... and by "cool" I mean something like the 'Sophie the giraffe' toy that kids her age were going for mad around her 1st birthday :)

What about something to keep as a main present?

We got DD a Bunnykins figure and whilst she never got play value out of it, she does cherish it now Smile

I think paints and an easel were her favourite things at this age though!

My DD was same age last Christmas, her favourite presents were the toy Dyson & a doll with pram.

DD2 will be 18mths by christmas. her mum & dad present is a little tykes cosy coupe car bought when I saw it on offer last month.

DD1 (4yo) loves octonauts. santa is bringing her an octonauts duvet cover and blanket that I know she'll love. (I'm planning a duvet swap in the middle of the night while she sleeps Hmm). So bedding does work for christmas presents Wink. Just as character pants and a toothbrush are obligatory stocking fillers!
