Just curious.

I think I am a bit mean...

Probably about £50, including stocking, on our 3 yo. And wrapped up old toys for the baby who will be 6 months.

They have lots if generous relatives though who will all buy toys.

Honestly don't think it matters how much you spend at this age. What you have got sounds fine, and I don't think you need to get more just to spend more - but if you want to get anything like a scooter, then Christmas is a good time to do it.

When my dd was 3, her main present was a toy oven, which was about £60. I really wanted her to have one and my dds still play with it (aged 8 and 5) so it has been worth it. DD2 got a mini-micro scooter at the same age. My friend gave her ds one book.

DD had just turned three last Christmas, the gifts I can rememeber getting her are:

Lalaloopsy doll
Gizmo plush
Gremlins dvd box set
x3 Monster High dolls
Disney princess handbag
Wooden play food for her kitchen
Sylvanian families dalmatian family
'Dear Santa' book

There must have been more because I remember wincing at the amount, about £150 in total.

GoldenHandshake - I am astounded at you list of presents for a (just turned) 3 year old!

Nearly all those presents are aimed at much older children. She knows what Gremlins is at 3! Horrible monster high dolls! Even the Sylvanian dolls are aimed at 5/6 year olds.

Are you in such a rush for your DD to grow up?

GoldenHandshake · 09/11/2012 11:50

Doitnicelyplease No I'm not in a rush at all, I merely bought things she is very interested in, she loves vampires, monsters etc, seeing Monster Hotel at the cinema has made her year!

None of these things has been forced on her, she does not suffer from nightmares from watching Gremlins, she actually adores them and has a Spike the gremlin plush that she takes to bed.

sorry Goldenhandshake I did not mean to sound critical - I was just surprised that she knew what that stuff was. My DD is a similar age and is a bit clueless about toys/trend etc.

I am sure next year it will be a whole long list of crapthings they want!

I would buy something big like a kitchen or dollhouse tbh, I think all the £15 £25 people are really stingy.

My dc have always had clothes, shoes, coats and pjs to and loved them.
