What are you getting your 3 year old girls?

I'm stumped for DD. she has a bike, has duplo and has never had happyland and is perhaps a bit old at almost 3. She has dollies, dressing up etc.

What are you getting your 3 year olds?

Mine has just got some sylvanian families stuff for her birthday, which she loves. Can't say I'll be getting her any, but I'm sure family will. I'd have preferred playmobil really. Dressing up clothes?

DD2 loved her kitchen and sandwich making kit.

At that age DD1 loved her jigsaws and craft stuff.

God no more Sylvanian families stuff!! Watching this thread as we have a 3 year old too - and no idea what to get her. We have a complicating factor of having a 9 year old who was very careful with all her stuff- so DD2 has most of it handed down, leaving very little that she actually NEEDS. Think we'll be getting her Jake and Neverland Pirate stuff and her gran is getting her a scooter

I want to get her a new helmet (she shares her brothers) - any ideas for funky ones?

A really nice wooden kitchen. We got gorgeous red one from amazon and ds loves it. He is always making me tea and sausages! (well trained little chap!)

We are thinking of getting him a pedal car or a little house for him to play in outside as he loves his friends one and at least he can play in it over the winter

I have twin girls who will be 3 just before Christmas so have 2 events, 2 girls same age to plan for. For birthday they are getting bikes and for xmas they are getting a dolls house and dolls.

I wouldn't say 3 was too old for Happy Land - my eldest (6) and his friends still play with it.

Other things I'm suggesting to people: hobbyhorses, books (can never have too many), toy laptops, new big towels, little backpack each for preschool, some early phonics toys, lunch bags, a few dvd's.

Things they currently love playing with: wooden train set, happy land farm (and added bits), toy cooker, their brother's cars, and they are just really starting to get in to games - e.g. the Orchard Toys ones - shopping list, incy wincy spider etc. And it would appear my girls can't ever have too many soft toys...

I got my 3yr old DD a leap pad for her birthday and she loves it, can draw on it, read stories and take pictures and video. Added bonus is leap frog have just released leap pad 2 so original leap pad is half price on amazon :)

Our dt's are 3 - will be just 4 in dec - they're getting playmobil for christmas - really recommend a little suitcase like this www.amazon.co.uk/Trade-Mark-Collections-Disney-Wheeled/dp/B006ZVOQXK/ref=sr_1_11?s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1348778932&sr=1-11 they were given one each by a friend of mine last christmas (so just 3) and they play with them everyday - lots of stuff gets packed/trundled around the house - they love it :)

They also got a wooden dollshouse (plus furniture) and hospital which they also love. I'm in two minds about getting bikes as none of our children have been very proficient at peddaling - and not sure if I can manage two stroppy 3 yr olds on bikes on christmas day!!

My DD is three in mid December so looking for any suggestions on this! We are defo going for a balance bike, but that's the extent of my planning so far!! Xxx

We are getting DD one of those vtech cameras. She loves taking pics.

She has asked for DVDs. But thats about it. A bike is her main present. We will also get books, some new clothes.

Apart from that Im stuck too.

Re helmets, we got our daughters a Met helmet, that has a inbuilt light at the back.

A toy castle with knights and a Brio train set. I hope she'll be so distracted by them that she won't notice the woeful lack of smaller toys - she is easy to buy big presents for but she has all the soft toys/toy cars/games/balls that she needs.

DD is getting a kidizoom camera for her 3rd birthday (Dec)

A mini-micro scooter for christmas and possibly a dolls house if family want to buy the scooter.

Things I will suggest to people that ask will be dressing up bits (doctors kit), books (esp Mr Men), crafty bits like googly eyes and glitter and a doll with a hard body to go in her dolls bath.

We are getting dd a kiddizoom camera, and some lego. i ruddy love lego, erm, i mean dd loves lego!

I like the idea of things that they can build a collection of, ie playmobil, lego, sylvanian families etc then you don't have to think of anything new for the next few years, you just add to the collection.

Do you think 3 is too old for aquadraw? Dd (3) loves painting more than anything, but i find the process of getting all the gubbins out, the mess etc a bit stressful as she wants to do it everyday and with ds (4m) he could join in in a few months? Sorry, hijacking!!

toy kitchen.
dh made wooden one with nice big worksurface, so room to play at cooking. it has been played with by every child that comes into the house.
First one made for ds. Left behind when we moved from overseas. We all missed it, so first christmas home dh made new one for dd2.

We have loads of toy saucepans, food cups and saucers etc. Kitchne has 2 cupboards to keep it in. Granny made apron, oven gloves and tea towel to go with it.

Failing that dolls house (got our for £25 from Asda) wooden, opening front. Gets played with by both dds with playmobile people, peppa pig figures, sylvanian and anything else that will fit. Got unusual bits (shower and toilet) from ebay.

Baby doll, dolls buggy dolls cot, clothes. People tend to give these to younger kids but actually 3 is the age of pretend play

lego, don't leave it for the boys (the lego horse and carriage visits the dolls house)

Mine's getting the Ikea wooden kitchen as her main present, along with some bits to go with it. My parents have got her a Jessie doll from Toy Story, and I'm intending to get her a Kidizoom camera as well. She's going to be inheriting DS2's Mobigo because he's getting a DS, otherwise I'd probably be looking to get her something along those lines instead of the camera.

For those of you getting a Kidizoom camera, Ocado are selling them for £26.24 at the moment as part of their 25% of baby and toddler event. A lovely mnetter on the Christmas bargain thread pointed it out (lack of sleep means your name escapes me - sorry)
