What are you buying the men in your life for Christmas? Last year my Dad and FIL loved their M&S weather station keyrings but this year I'm struggling to come up with any ideas. TIA.

A PS3, but its a surprise :o

Boring but DH and I (marrried 25 years) tend to buy a joint present for the house, ie: a picture we both like or theatre tickets, something like that.

My Dad (80 !!) usually gets port/chocolate biscuits - more of a 'token' present.

I'm not sure what to get DH either. I was thinking maybe a Kindle.

Raisin - not sure about the M&S one, but of another one. Certainly looks interesting but I would wonder how much it adds to the weight of the keys. I'm really bad and keep keys in my pocket and the pockets don't cope well with that now, yet alone with more weight added.

As a bloke, last year I got an AeroPress coffee maker. That was good, though don't use it quite as much as I should.

No idea what I want this year (typical man hey) but need to put together a list so other people can get me things. So marking my place on here so I can get some ideas!

Why are men so difficult to buy presents for??

DH and I do the "joint present for the house" thing - last year it was a new bed.

That leaves DDad (books, plants for the garden or tickets/vouchers for something to do - Vinopolis was a good one), DB (clothes) and BIL (clothes, or something gadgetty for the kitchen as he's a keen cook).

M&S weather station keyrings come out every year at some point in the run-up to Christmas (- keep checking the website but they're not there yet) . I think they cost about £20 each. FIL and Dad are very into weather so loved it. One of Dad's friends admired his so much that I had to buy one for him as well (reimbursed of course)! No idea about the weight/ bulk issue but it certainly didn't bother them. Dad uses a myriad of pockets in his jacket and FIL has a manbag!

Weather station will now be bought for FIL, he likes outdoorsey things.

To complicate matters in my family ALL of the bloomin' men have birthdays as well as Christmas in the next 3 months. All of them, how did we manage that?

I'm making some christmas pud vodka that I have earmarked to be given out to the men, DB wants money cos he gave all of his away to an unsuitable woman , DP has me lucky thing so he doesn't need anything, and SF likes whisky.

FIL also has his 60th birthday so I suppose I should try and get somwthing a bit special for that.

Oh! had another idea, but it isn't cheap. NDN did this for her DH's 30th this year, there are some companies that will take a drawing made by the DC and engrave it onto a silver keyring. Apparently it is a really lovely gift, and her DH was really pleased with it. I think it cost in th £50-£100 range though.

I'm making my brother (17) a 'lazy Bastard survival kit' which I will purchase useful items and label them as when to use, so far I have:

20 fags (can't be arsed to roll)
Lynx (can't be arsed to shower)
Onesie (cant be arsed with choosing clothes)
Red bull (can't be arsed to get up)
Nuts magazine (can't be arses to visit girlfriend)
Condoms (can't be arsed going to shop)
Chewable tooth brush (can't be arsed to brush teeth)

Etc etc I'm still buying random bits but I should add we are very open family so this its funny to us :o

Actually gig tickets or comedy night tickets have gone down well in the past, along with treaty things to eat.

The Harry Potter Studio Tour is ace - can definitely recommend as a gift for any Potter fans.

Dh is getting body armour for mountain biking.

Plus the usual pjs, alcohol, clothes, underwear and smelliest etc.

Dh is easy and will get the usual clothes, book, toiletries.

It is Bil that is difficult. He has expensive tastes in clothes (well, in most things!) and has most stuff he would want. He would think a weather gadget was just a dust collector and has antique barometers anyway (!).

He loves his garden, so often ends up with something garden related or something consumable. As a last resort, he will get cashmere socks ... again!

My 'mans' list for male relatives usually includes;

They're the main things I pick from.....

Dh is getting a magazne subscription to Total Film. Not sure what else. He loves whiskey but got a few bottles at his birthday so wont need any till next birthday.

May look for tickets to a stand up show.

Oh and the edible bugs' lollies and things from selfridges. The scorpion vodka lolly and similar....

DH has always wanted Scalextric (though really it would be the DC who play with it the most!). Any recommendations for which Scalextric set?
