Ideas to put in wooden advent calendars

After seeing other threads on here about wooden advent calendars I think I'm going to get one this year.

Just looking for ideas of what to out in other than sweets/chocolate. I've seen suggestions to put in daily activities which sound great, but with DD3 due in November I need to be realistic :) I'm thinking maybe an activity at the weekends and a toy/treat during the week.

DDs will be 3.5 and 1.5.

Special Christmas decorations to hang on the tree? Advantage of being reused every year!

I love the idea of all these things, but practically it tends to stress me out if I can't find stuff then regret it (until it's all done)... Bit like homemade crackers!! :)
