when will you make your christmas cakes??
i like to feed mine a fair bit, but im not too sure how far to make them

I have just put my fruit to soak. I make mine backward. soak fruit, then bake in Nov and feed.

I dont like fruit cake-I made it for my ex-husband who loves it!! October for me, its easy but getting all the ingredients is the biggest hassle. I also use the delia method but change it a bit by taking out candid peel and currants. Also tweeking it with more nuts etc.

I've given up with the soaking fruit method - I did 3 last year and all very too soggy.
