Not at all :) because you plan ahead you get your family/friends the best gifts for the budget you have :)

I buy Christmas cards/gift wrap in January so it is super cheap Grin

As for gifts, I don't go out of my way to buy them but if I see a good offer on in store I will buy it and save it for Christmas :)

Pancakeflipper · 26/04/2012 13:43

If I see something that I know someone will love I buy it and put it away.

Mrsrobertduvall · 26/04/2012 13:45

No you are sensible, and budgeting accordingly.
I only buy for 2 dcs , and they are teenagers, so not much shopping for me!

Scout19075 · 26/04/2012 21:12

I do it, put it on my spreadsheet [sad geek] and tuck it away in the presents box for Christmas.

Flisspaps · 26/04/2012 21:13

I started buying the DCs Christmas presents in January Grin

DS is 11 days old Blush

I love it when the Christmas topic pops back up :)

I've got the majority of friends, friends DC's and family prezzies. I brought them in the Jan sales. I'm putting change into a money box this year for the DD's so I can ask them what they want nearer the time. DD1 will be 5 this year so I won't be able to pick things up in the summer sales this year like I always have as she will know what she wants.

mummakaz · 27/04/2012 15:52

I have started already but I start early every year as I hate going to town in december plus I can't afford to buy them all at once. Managed to pick some bargains not long ago at asda. Got DD the mermaid moonsand set for £1.25 and ds a star wars light saber for £8 Grin have also got most of the stoking pressies in the sales Blush

revolutionconfirmed · 29/04/2012 00:08

I do too or at least start. Things like pencil cases/stationary for my ten year old niece is more widely available in the summer due to going back to school and by November hers are always worn out or completely wrecked and she's glad of the new things she gets as stocking fillers.

I haven't started yet but I intend to after DD1's 4th birthday mid-June. Once that expense is out of the way apart from a few small birthday presents and school uniform due we're home free until November so I stock up and put it all in the spare room/at someone else's house if it's for the DD's.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/04/2012 00:52

I buy household things when I see them especially in shops like HomeSense where you have to buy when you see them.
Stocking fillers from October.
DC presents usually early December because DS has a December birthday and if I buy too early, they change their minds Confused

Food shopping starts in November .
DH usually something from Amazon ( bless their quick delivery) Grin

lauracindy · 31/05/2012 14:13

no your not odd at all. I start around june, DC are still very young so have most of theirs finished, just the rest of my family & OH to buy for, already got my dad some scooby doo pyjamas & will get mum clothes too & will get my 2 sisters clothes voucher so thats always last.

SquishyCinnamonSwirls · 31/05/2012 14:16

Not at all odd, sensible in fact.

If I see something and it's a bargain I'll get it and put it away then make a note on my phone so I don't forget.

DD's after some Avengers toys this year (Captain America's shield?!) so I'll definitely have to start early to find them.
