I'm amazed I can't find this thread already. Please point me to it if I have missed it. In brief:
Fireman Sam Jupiter. It's shit
Sophie the Giraffe. 11quid for that?! What's all the hype?
Everything else is lovely, thanks very much.

DD is loving the sylvanian ice cream cart - however I weep slightly every time I pick up the miniscule cones and ice creams and wonder how long it will be before there are hardly any left. The gaps in the floorboards in the room are big enough for them to drop through!

2kidsintow · 29/12/2011 22:14

Hannah Montana microphone. Really - what was I thinking? My DD (7) is loud enough without it. Relegated to being an upstairs in her bedroom toy. And the Hannah Montana wig moults constantly.

Not strictly a toy, but the case for my daughter's Orange Stockholm phone just doesn't keep the phone from sliding out and dropping on the floor.
Bum!

Daftapath · 29/12/2011 22:20

Two vuvuzelas. One each Xmas Hmm

GypsyMoth · 29/12/2011 22:22

Bloody remote controlled 'mater' from cars...... Whacked into me and that was the dessert on the floor!!

colditz · 29/12/2011 22:24

4 rapid fire nerf guns

frankie76 · 29/12/2011 22:27

Play doh bought it for Xmas for the first time - she is obsessed and i keep finding bits everywhere now. (but it does keep her quiet)

2kidsintow · 29/12/2011 22:28

Oh God yes....SIL gave Nerf guns. Kids love them, already lost most of the 'bullets'....probably deep in the Christmas tree.

Rosemallow · 29/12/2011 22:32

Vtech little robot dog thing. DD loves it and I didn't realise you could switch it off until she showed me how this evening (she's 2!)
It's been telling the same two bloody jokes all day.

ChipsnCheese · 29/12/2011 22:43

Oh no LittlestLightOnTheTree. Tragic! What pudding was it?

solidgoldbrass · 29/12/2011 22:45

Extremely noisy (though very pretty light-show) generic space gun. Pieu! Pieu! Wahwahwahwah!

GypsyMoth · 29/12/2011 22:46

It was a bloody baileys dome!

nancerama · 29/12/2011 22:48

Anything Vtech. 4 of their noisy tuneless plastic monstrosities have made it into the toy box :(

InExcelsisDeo · 29/12/2011 22:50

Is Jupiter Fireman Sam's true surname then? There's a whole thread about that one floating round atm.

ChipsnCheese · 29/12/2011 22:50

LittlestLightOnTheTree Sob.

ChipsnCheese · 29/12/2011 22:52

Ha ha InExcelsisDeo. No, Jupiter's the pants fire engine in the 'collect them all' set.

InExcelsisDeo · 29/12/2011 22:59

Ah. Noisy, is it?

MrsHeffley · 29/12/2011 23:38

AliBellandthe40jingles · 29/12/2011 23:43

We did pretty well this year, but the lovely pirate ship that DS2 got from one of my brothers DOESN't HAVE A FUCKING OFF SWITCH!

Thanks for that John Lewis!

Methe · 29/12/2011 23:45

Zhu zhu hamster. What do they do?

Unfortunately the dc seem to have a better grasp of The Point Of Them and we have bought 2 more for upcoming birthdays.

Seriously, though. What're they for?

MrsHeffley · 29/12/2011 23:47

They wake up in the middle of the night to prattle to themselves scaring you all witless, that's what they do.

I am not wild about anything new we have which is remote controlled. One of the cars appears to have a life of its own and randomly revs up and reverses of its own accord.
DS loves the jungle junction playset and I like it now it is assembled but it was like a giant kinderegg toy to put together. It had about 60 stickers and approximately 500 pieces, two of which are left over as I'm not exactly sure what their purpose in life is.
I would pay someone to come and put toys together for me over the festive period.

ChipsnCheese · 30/12/2011 08:43

InExcelsisDeo It doesn't even say nee naw

When Zhu Zhu pets were THE big thing 2 years ago, I bought every. existing. bit. From the states thinking it was a great way to get all 4 kids playing together. Total pants. They hadn't asked for it. Hadn't heard of it. Didn't want it. It's still in a box in the spare room waiting to be ebayed having been played with once. Sigh.

BerthaTheBogBurglar · 30/12/2011 20:30

Hmm. We had Fireman Sam's Jupiter fire engine about 4 years ago. Plus a gorgeous wooden fire station with gorgeous wooden fire engine and lovely little doll firemen. Jupiter has been played with constantly by both boys (one of them used to take it to bed, in fact - who needs a teddy). The firestation is currently in use as a coffee table (has flat roof). Sigh.

Yep, Zhu zhu pets are pants. Watch they don't put the wheels near their hair. Fake hamsters stuck to the head is not a good look.

Lots of unplayed with stuff here. It's nothing to do with the toys though - I just shouldn't have bothered buying anything other than Ben10.

BethShine - you need to find teenagers!
