Reusable Advent Calendar

I'm thinking of getting a reusable advent calendar (something like this maybe) for next year - and in the spirit of being organised and not leaving things to the last minute would like some ideas on what to put in it as gifts, so I can organise myself throughout the year.

DS1 will be 3.10yrs next December, DS2 is due in April (the other reason for thinking about this now).

So if you have one of these type of advent calendars, what do you use for gifts - what works well and what should I look to avoid?

There's a few good threads on this if you look back through previous pages of the Christmas board.

I'm planning on getting them for next year as the DCs (4 and 2) had chocolate ones this time and they were so dull.

I'm planning on putting a chocolate or sweet in each one, and then either silly little gifts like hairclips or a Christmassy activity 'voucher' as in "today we will make paper chains and hang them up". Xmas Smile

Thanks, I will have a look through previous pages.

Vouchers are a good idea.

The main reason I want to do this is SD had a chocolate one this year which was a) boring for him and b) he could't resist opening multiple windows some days.

I also like the look of the Playmobil / Lego ones, but with a new baby/crawler I think they are off the agenda for a few years yet, so this seems a good compromise.

Ours hangs up and has a nativity scene you build up and is made of cloth. Sidesteps the gifts in pockets if you don't fancy that but is reusable. By festival crafts if you want to google it.

Im a cm and use my calender each year i love it Grin i put choc/sweets in and a weekend put money in for my boys aged 14 and 15. My friend puts tree decorations in hers and each day the children hang a new decoration on the tree ( downside is the tree has to be up dec 1st)
