Mine was icing sugar at nine o'clock-tesco ran out! Two corner shops later... Mind you we never eat Christmas cake til January so not sure I really needed to dash out.

Crackers! Am hoping my 4 year old will appreciate the Executive Desk Toys inside the crackers labelled NOT FOR CHILDREN - that's all that was left (weep)

Bacon. I ended up in Gregs where the sandwiches were two for £1 and mince pies were 5 packs for £1 because it was closing. Result.

"Blame the Baileys"

You've just reminded me of the one item I forgot... darn !

ThompsonTwins · 25/12/2011 04:13

It should have been fruit but I forgot until I caught sight of the fruit bowl long after all the shops had shut (2 apples, 1 satsuma and a banana on the turn)

Coffee! I always always always have proper coffee on Christmas day (not a big coffee drinker so buy crappy instant mostly and go Starbucks if I'm in the mood for decent stuff)

I distinctly remember putting it in the trolley but can I hell as find it! DP has checked the receipt and we haven't paid for it so god knows where it's gone!

Just re-read the title...

It wasn't a panic buy because I didn't actually buy any. I only realised at midnight !

Storm - have you checked the car boot (if you put the shopping bags there on the way him)? I usually find lost items there, or in the footwell.

storminamanger · 25/12/2011 06:50

Yeah checked, but it's not on the receipt so it's gone missing somewhere before we paid! Sad

MrsMuddyPuddles · 25/12/2011 06:54

Mine was a small gift for a friend who's joining us for dinner today.
