Bacon sarnies here. We're very much a porridge and wholemeal toast sort of family usually so there is great excitement when the bacon and white bread comes out Xmas Grin

It's dry cured and slightly smoked, and, which (I think) is the big difference, is something like 97% meat, with no added water, so it goes really, really crispy. You can buy it in Sainsbos.

Panettone and glittery jam - The Elves are bringing the glittery jam on Christmas Eve and dd1 (4yo) will be amazed!

LissTheSeasonLouBeJollie · 23/12/2011 19:53

Smoked salmon and scrambled egg with crusty bread and real butter here. And bucks fizz to wash it all down. Lush!

We do a brunch of smoked salmon, bagels, cream cheese, tomatoes and red onion and a big plate of tiger prawns with American Style cocktail sauce (ketchup plus lots of horseradish). And bloody marys or bucks fizzes for the grownups. Oooo, I can't wait!

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 23/12/2011 19:55

Cooked-from-frozen croissant. Normally would love bagels and cream cheese and smoked salmon or something, but wanted minimal faff as am 37 weeks pregnant and expecting 7 guests for Xmas day! Plus it's smoked salmon for starter and DH isn't that keen on it anyway. We're having a full fry up tomorrow though :)

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 23/12/2011 19:56

Oh yes - and freshly squeezed OJ - such a treat :)

Molehillmountain · 23/12/2011 20:11

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs here too. Ours will be on English muffins and there'll be croissants and jam too. The Christmas fairies decorated the table with sprinkles and crackers-once they'd done I once it was a firm tradition!

fannybanjo · 23/12/2011 20:14

baubleybobbityhat · 23/12/2011 20:33

Croissants with jam
Fruit
Coffee

We are going to be having the largest roast dinner of the year later in the day, why would we want a cooked breakfast ???

fannybanjo · 23/12/2011 20:47

Because I want a cooked breakfast. One of the only days of the year we have the full works. Plus I'm training for a marathon and bloody starving all the time!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/12/2011 21:26

Croissants, pain au chocolate, fruit, fresh OJ, lots of coffee.

BlatherskitesInFairyLights · 23/12/2011 21:44

We're already pissing off MIL by sleeping here the night before so our breakfast has got to be quick so we can have opened our presents, eaten and be over there ASAP oh joy

Breakfast will therefore be Pain Au Chocolat and lots of Tropicana. Although I'd place bets on the DC's asking for the same Weetabix and Rice Krispies that they have every morning

Jacksterbear · 23/12/2011 21:46

Bacon and mushroom sandwiches = family tradition.

I need to know more about this glittery jam!

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 23/12/2011 23:03

ooh - bacon and mushroom sarnies - yum. Can't believe I forgot to buy damn mushrooms
