Argos and Paypal help! (and a warning!)

Did last Argos order Saturday 17th, in plenty of time. Received Paypal email "you have sent a payment blah blah"

Checked today, paypal payment is still pending, Argos say they have no order, no order exists and therefore I am getting no items, but the Paypal payment cannot be cancelled.

Does anyone know what I can do about the paypal payment?

contact paypal and tell them. They should be able to refund. Do u have an order number etc for argos?

Argos online have never ever worked for me - I loathe them more than just about any other website in history. They are so shit it is unreal :(

Paypal say that the payment can't be refunded (at the moment) because effectively they are just waiting for Argos to collect it. Argos meanwhile are trying to get me to reorder on the phone by another payment method. (d'oh, as if)

I have to email Paypal with the whole story apparently as a disputey thing can't be opened because there is no transaction. (except £60 in cyberspace somewhere)

Never, ever ever again.

That's too bad, I've used Paypal with Maplin & at least one other online seller this year, no problems.

You'll probably find the money won't leave your account. A similar thing happened to me when actually paying in.person in tesco on my debit card. I tried my card, it was declined, I tried again and it was declined a second time and I then gave up and paid on my credit card.
Checked online when got home as was worried why card had been declined and my available balance had gone down by 120 pounds. I rang Halifax who said that a glitch in the system meant the transaction hadn't gone through but the money was waiting for tesco to claim it. They never did and after seven days it just became available to me again but I was very cross at the time.

Yes, that seems to be what Argos are saying....bloody hell though, what a faff.

Thanks all.
