Head?!? I'm supposed to have a head??!!! Knew I'd forgotten something.

molepomandmistletoe · 22/12/2011 09:30

YAY!!!!

After a bit of a lull, I'm getting the christmas sprit back. Am making mince pies today and tomorrow will be making the reindeer food. Saturday will be making stuffing and getting as much stuff sone as possible.

Remind me to take the beef out of the freezer for boxing day!

MamaPizzaChristmasToppings · 22/12/2011 09:40

Oh my! I have just done my final Christmas shopping. It was seriously packed at 7.30 am! But it's all over now, hooray Xmas Grin It means I can relax tomorrow clean the house again

Mole, you deserve a whole sticker chart!!!

Anyway, I am so glad to be back. Yesterday I spilled a full cup of coffee over my laptop Xmas Shock. Mouse and keyboard didn't work at all. Have just got some USB plug-in cheapos at Asda and at least everything else seems to be working. The problem is that the laptop is generally bust and I can't sit comfy on the sofa anymore. Xmas Sad Where on earth am I going to find £300 for a new one? Thought about home insurance, but its 250 quid excess. It's out of the warranty time (just about, damn!). I want to cry :(

Ah well, I can only hope for the winning lottery ticket. 3 sleeps, keep on smiling, eh? Xmas Grin

MrsChristmas, would you be able to also pm me re what you were talking about yesterday?

PeanutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 22/12/2011 09:41

am sure ill have forgotten something Xmas Grin

How can you not mole its 3 sleeps!!!

I think it's just a case that I 'd done everything I could have up until today (not a boast, just trying to figure out why) and was bored and shattered.

Today though I have a few little bits to do so the sprit has come back for a little.

PeanutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 22/12/2011 09:44

Oh there you are mama Xmas Smile
OH NO!! my laptop wire has broken and is sending sparks flying and battery too low to work without so have borrowed DM.
Hows the Flu?

OP posts:
molepomandmistletoe · 22/12/2011 09:46

O Mama! No! I wish I had a spare to give to you. Xmas Sad

You as well Peanuts?

PeanutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 22/12/2011 09:53

Thats lovely Mole, i think mine will be ok with a new power cord and internal battery. [Fsmile]

OP posts:
molepomandmistletoe · 22/12/2011 09:58

Internal batteries are about £30 if you look.

The cords are not that much more possibly cheaper. I've just had to replace my battery, it's taking ages to arrive but I have no choice about that.

PeanutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 22/12/2011 10:01

I need to find where to get it from...Pc world or the manafacturers?
Think Ill wait until after Christmas now.

Dreading the final food shop tommorow, I bet its heeeeaving!

OP posts:
molepomandmistletoe · 22/12/2011 10:06

You google the serial number, make and model.

That's what I did.

molepomandmistletoe · 22/12/2011 10:14

Yuck, good luck with that tomorrow.

I love food shopping but for the 4 days before Christmas I avoid all the shops as it's just suicide. It's bad enough on your own but as a single parent with 2 kids, one SN it's just not worth it.

LOL, the last time I went to the shopping centre this close to Christmas was a few years ago and I punched a teen in the face (he was trying to life my purse out of my bag), poor kid went sprawling on the floor. I'd run out of patience with humans in general, I was tired, hot, aching, just had DD, fed up and in a rotton mood. I thought I was either going to be killed or arrested and felt horrrible. Neither happened though as security had been following him for a while after a few other complaints. I've avoided the shops from then on around this time of year. Mainly for the sake of other people rather than myself.

PeanutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 22/12/2011 10:19

Ho ho Mole! good for you, teach him to thieve!
Am trying to figure out what time of day will be less packed Xmas Hmm

OP posts:
molepomandmistletoe · 22/12/2011 10:22

ummm..I would just bite the bullet, take some paracetamol, wear trainers, plug yourself into an ipod and just get it over with. You cant tell when it's going to ease off this close to christmas.

MamaPizzaChristmasToppings · 22/12/2011 10:36

Peanuts, that's also rubbish. But at least you can get a new battery thingy. Wait till boxing day sales. I made some phone calls, but it is definitely unrepairable. Well, it is, but for the price I might aswell save up for a new one. The screen seems so far away right now, hate it!

Mole, goon on you. Honestly, he was a git, so you did right.

Good luck with the shopping tomorrow. Seriously, shops are already full.

MamaPizzaChristmasToppings · 22/12/2011 10:53

FUCK! SHIT! BOLLOCKS!

Just spoke to compaq it would cost £488 to repair. The laptop itself cost £299. Seriously, that is fucking ridiculous. Xmas Angry Xmas Sad

PeanutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 22/12/2011 11:13

That is ridiculous Xmas Sad

Hows your man flu Mama?

OP posts:
MamaPizzaChristmasToppings · 22/12/2011 11:21

It is insane. Next time I will take out accidental damage insurance. It would have covered it.

Man flu getting better. DH made me a mix of whiskey, lemon juice, paracetamol and hot water yesterday and it worked wonders. It must have been the Christmas spirit Xmas Grin

MrsTwinks · 22/12/2011 11:24

Anyone else trying the ostrich thing? I seem to be in denial I have a list 3 pages long of stuff to do and am sitting watching telly Xmas Confused

OhYouBadBadReindeer · 22/12/2011 11:26

noooooooo - how can it be?!!!!

MamaPizzaChristmasToppings · 22/12/2011 11:41

MrsTwinks, I finished EVERYTHING!

I mean, really everything, all presents bought and wrapped, all food shopping done. Christmas can come Xmas Grin

Now, you might need some tough love from me too. Twinks, get up off the sofa, turn off the telly, get dressed and get things done! If you do well and finish by tonight you will get a sticker, otherwise I will have to put you in detention!

MrsTwinks · 22/12/2011 12:23

I'm not SO bad... the food is all coming tonight as i managed to get a slot this year, wrapping all done bar one late arriving gift, and pretty much everything I could do this far in advance done. Now I just have just lost all my get up and go... I think I need a detention !!!

molepomandmistletoe · 22/12/2011 13:55

Well done MAMA! Have some Wine.

I've currently got mince pies in the oven and the kids are making a giant mess cooking too. I'm just waiting for the ex inlaws to hurry up and visit as I want a fag but cant have one if they are around. FFS.

Hope you manage to get the laptops repaired in the new year. It's a right headache and an expensive one at that.

Mrs Twinks, you need to rest and your get up and go will come back and give you a kick up ther rear end.

MamaPizzaChristmasToppings · 22/12/2011 14:12

"I must get up and go" --> You must write this 100 times Xmas Grin

Mole, you are MAD Xmas Wink Baking with children? I wouldn't have the patience for that.

PapaPizza is trying to get someone at his work look at it, but I am not holding out much hope. I suppose I can still go online, but it is a pain. Sitting in the cold kitchen rather than comfy sofa while I am ignoring DS in living room

IceColdBitchy · 22/12/2011 14:13

Whoopee 2 sleeps til christmas here. 24th all the way!!!

Can't fucking wait although still have 2 presents left to make and no fecking time or peace from ds to do so.
