'Toys' for a nearly 15 year old??

DS1 will be 15 in January. Last years hits for Christmas were a pair of White sunglasses, the ball game Cuponk and the new style rubiks cube.

This year his bidget is split between half as money, which he will spend on warhammer, then the other half has gone on clothes, trainers, watch all of which he has asked for but I haven't got him anything to 'play' with and I'm struggling to think of anything.

What gadgets or toys have people bought for teens that have either been a success or you're hoping they'll enjoy?

BuckBuckMcFate · 21/12/2011 11:33

Thanks usual Grin

He spent last years Xmas and birthday money building a pc so xbox pretty redundant to him, he mutters about the difference between pc and console games, he's a pc nerd!

I got my 17yr old Ds a couple of pot noodle gift boxes in Tesco (have seen them in morrisons too) with a rotating noodle fork in one and a big pot shaped mug and an actual noodle in the other. That and a snuggie blanket (with sleeves) for when he's gaming when he should be sleeping.

Ds has liked this and I have bought him this that I think he'll like too. Both are available in WH Smith if it's too late for delivery.

PromiseFalls · 21/12/2011 16:02

Bop it is good argos

serin · 21/12/2011 16:18

We have got DD (14) a Ripstick or Ribstick for Christmas.

This could go either way but she enjoys falling off her brothers unicycle.

BuckBuckMcFate · 21/12/2011 16:19

Lots of replies, thank you!

I've got him a onesie for staying warm. Noodles are his go to snack during the evening so rotating fork sounding good!

I'm liking the sound of bop it too.

I was starting to feel quite sad thinking he wouldn't have anything to play with Blush

I'll go check out the links now too and should be able to pick something for him. Thank you all again.

goingmadinthecountry · 21/12/2011 22:58

Feeking bad now - do you all buy your 15yo something to play with? Mine's getting a (v expensive imo) bike - does that count?

MrsRhettButler · 21/12/2011 23:44

this UFO toy is really good and it's £8 in ASDA

ScaryFairy28 · 22/12/2011 09:25

Bop it is great and super addictive!

Marne · 22/12/2011 09:38

I was going to say 'bop it' (i'm almost 30 and would happily play with one), remote control spider thing? a rubix cube?

BarkisIsWillin · 22/12/2011 10:04

Was there any particular toy/game he loved years ago? There might be an updated version available now. Like many other posters I bought Bopit last year for the teenagers - they had it years ago too.

mumeeee · 22/12/2011 19:17

DD2 had a bop it when she was 14 and loved it.

HotCrossNun · 22/12/2011 22:05

All my offspring were more than content with a cup-and-ball to play with for Christmas Xmas Smile

Ohhh dear that takes me back...I remember one Boxing Day, all of us sat around the fire in the living room with out cups and balls. Was rather civilized, until DS3 burst into tears of frustration. It was quite funny really, he could never get the trajectory of the ball quite right bless him :') I remember he once got so angry he had one of his fits and DH had to call an ambulance. What a day that was..

Anyway, I'm just a mad old lady, what do I know about toys? Confused
