I tried this today in the German Market.

£3.50.

I wasn't keen.

You don't like the best food on earth?

MamaPizzaChristmasToppings · 21/12/2011 08:43

BTW, much cheaper if you get your own at LIDL. Six pack for £1.99 and get some Broetchen from the frozen aisle.

AlmaWalkingInAWinterWonderland · 21/12/2011 08:58

Ooh, I didn't realise you could buy them in Lidl!

MamaPizzaChristmasToppings · 21/12/2011 09:00

I always get them there, far too overpriced on the market. Just make sure you get the real crusty bread rolls (aka broetchen). Pack of 9 for 99 pence in the frozen.

We don't have a market near us so just good to be able to have some!

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 22/12/2011 17:12

Are the sausages meant to be chopped up and put on a plate, with the sauce and curry powder added on top, and a stale roll provided separately?

I thought I was getting a hot dog with hot curry sauce on top.

Thats how it is serves LineRunner.

We had the German market here in November, DH got currywurst and filled the bread roll with it.

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 23/12/2011 00:41

Thanks for the info.

The bread roll was horrible. Is it meant to be fresh and crusty?

Ewww, sounds wrong. I love Bratwurst, but the ones in the markets over here are usually crap. Never tried curry wurst. In Germany you'd get one at the roadside on a paper plte/tray with a half a slive (cut diagonally) of thick sliced bread, but a bit more rustic than you'd get here. Very mild mustard (senf) goes really well with it.

lisaro · 23/12/2011 01:02

paper PLATE, half a SLICE - damn you, merlot!

MamaPizzaChristmasToppings · 23/12/2011 06:29

Breadroll should really have been crusty. Try making your own if you liked the taste, as I said, it's all at LIDL. And I agree, best with mustard.
