Am I the only one who didn't realise that 2nd class ended on Saturday

Were you expecting a massive TV campaign to make you aware? Not exactly their fault. Posting dates are easily available online and in post offices.

No of course not, but a poster in the po would have helped at least ! Surely 5 clear working days ought to be enough for 2nd class. Felt sure it was Monday last year when Christmas Day fell on the Saturday, maybe I was wrong.

Apparently htey have a 5 day backlog anyway so it's not a given that anything will arrive for Christmas now.

Your mistake, not theirs.

My post office has a poster. It also has staff you can ask. Post always takes longer at Christmas, you can't assume anything.

I'm not saying their website is perfect at all, anything that needs loggin in is shite. I need to go do a 14 mile round trip this week to pick something up from the delivery office as the website is refusing to let me pay outstanding postage to have it redelivered . Bet it turns out to be a card from an elderly aunt who alwys makes her own and never puts the right postage. We have to do this every year. I could strangle her. It is addressed to ds though so can't take the chance of leaving it to be returned to sender!

Yes I know I should have checked and it is my mistake, but thought it was still 2nd today from something I had heard on radio last week but must have misheard it. I actually asked dc to look for a poster while we queued today and there definitely wasn't one up . It's one of those within WH Smith arrangements and the only po in the town centre.
