They are ridiculously cheap to make and won't take long:

red felt (half a metre should do it - try John Lewis or Hobbycraft)
white felt for lettering
White embroidery thread for blanket stitching
cheapo cushion pad (I pick mine up in Wilkos for £1 each)
silicon glue (Hobbycraft again)

Use a template from internet to cut out your lettering. Glue it on using the silicon glue (sticks better than any other and won't burn the fabric like superglue will).

Sounds fab UJ thank you but I cannot sew - trying to do a button is hard for me!!!!

Hmm, no idea then because a quick scoot around the internet suggests they are all around the £40+ mark which is stupidly expensive for what they are.

Have you tried TK Maxx? They usually have things like this?

merlin · 19/12/2011 17:17

Ahhh .,bless your for looking UJ - thank you!! I did peek in TK Maxx the other day but nothing then, if I'm passing again I'll have another look! Happy Christmas! x

Ebay! Not sure if you'll get it in time though!

zoe88 · 19/12/2011 17:21

I saw some in the works yesterday. HTH

merlin · 19/12/2011 17:21

Actually UJ you've given me an idea - if I can find just a cheap basic red cushion, get some white felt for the letters and glue on as you say!!! Right now where have I seen a plain red cushion ............................ !!!!

Or a Next

I've seen some nice festive cushions in sainsburys oddly enough. Didnt look too closely at them, but they looked nice from a distance, red ones and green ones, various designs, think one had embroidered type snowflake on....not sure if any had words on. Think they were about £11 ish but may well be reduced any day now LOL

merlin · 19/12/2011 21:11

Thanks for all suggestions! If you see some mad woman rushing round the stores loitering by the cushions it will be me!!!

Probably too late with this but 'Past Times' have sale on and have cheapish Tapestry look xmas cushions.

merlin · 20/12/2011 11:34

Yay! I got one! Was just in Tesco's (looking for a bright pink candle actually but that's a whole other story!!) and there in amongst the cushions was just one little cushion! It's baby size but perfect - cream background with a red felt heart and Noel in red gingham .......... and just £7!!!! Xmas Smile Xmas Smile
