My dad sent two cards last week. One for DCs -Christmas card. One for DH and I with DCs Christmas money, thankfully not cash.

The card arrived last Friday. The one with the cheque hasn't.

No-one would know what's in it. It's no use to anyone else.
My dad is going to stop the cheque, (and will probably be charged)

It might still yurn up. But it's a pain.

I think there are huge delays at the moment. My love film disc was shipped last week and still isn't here (usually takes 2 days) and I had a package arrive yesterday that had been posted in November and had since been replaced because it was presumed lost! Maybe give it another few days?

My family members don't send cash, cheques or vouchers in the post any more. Says it all, really.

I think the Royal Mail doesn't regard something as 'lost' for about two weeks. Others will know more than me.

Personally I find it amazing that the Royal Mail itself and the Police fail to show any interest (seemingly) in these thefts.

yeah, we ''lost'' money, vouchers, chqs over the years

thank gawd for internet banking and instant transfers

I want to know HOW they know to take the ones containing stuff as the ones without stuff always arrive without fail - do they x ray or summat?

I heard that after they've been working there a while they can tell just by looking at a card/letter/package whether or not it contains anything.

I once had a package arrive with a huge gaping hole that had been badly sellotaped up with dried blood stains all over the packaging. Some idiot had ripped open my package to steal what was inside not realising that it was full of badges, most of which had open pins. I bet that taught him/her a lesson!

My birthday was on the 13th and I once had a card (and money) arrive from MIL in late February.

Grin at mummymccar's bloodstained parcel.

My DH received an invoice yesterday dated 26th May!!! We had to get the companty to send out an new one at the time as we hadn't recieved it.

Our next door neighbours are both posties so I won't moan too much about them only in jest, although they do know posties that have been sacked for stealing. :(
