Guitar help needed!

Eddas · 14/12/2011 18:30

My brother has given me some guitar based ideas but I have no clue where to buy them or what to get! Budget is small, £10-15.

He has suggested new strings, bookof songs(think i'll leave that as not sure what sort of songs he likes), guitar strap or jack to jack lead.

Any help gratefully received Xmas Grin

Ideally i'd like to buy online, working right up to christmas and don't fancy the shops

We are buying DS1 a plectrum maker - its like a hole punch but you use old credit cards :). Will try and find link but if you google "plectrum maker" or "guitar pick maker" then you should find one for about 15 quid.

Guitar For Dummies is a good book. I got it for DH a couple of years ago.

does he have an acoustic or classical guitar? (am assuming not electric)

acoustic want metal strings & classical nylon (I think)

I just bought a set of \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000EEJ8D2\these} (medium - middle of the road for safety!) for DS2

There are lots of different music books \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/%2522Coldplay%2522-%2522Travis%2522-%2522Stereophonics%2522-Preachers%2522-%2522Muse%2522/dp/0711988145/ref=sr_1_8?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1323902640&sr=1-8\along these lines}

amazon is great for stuff like this, best of all if you have paid for Prime as you get priority delivery Smile

Ponders · 14/12/2011 22:51

oh bugger, if he wants jack-to-jack leads it is electric

\link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_23?url=search-alias%3Dmi&field-keywords=electric+guitar+strings+set&sprefix=electric+guitar+strings#/ref=sr_nr_p_4_0?rh=n%3A340837031%2Ck%3Aelectric+guitar+strings+set%2Cp_4%3AErnie+Ball&bbn=340837031&keywords=electric+guitar+strings+set&ie=UTF8&qid=1323902956&rnid=405431031\Ernie Ball} are very popular apparently - close your eyes & point at the screen to pick one Grin

\link{http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/19516050/Cable-Tex-Guitar-Amp-Cable-6-35mm-To-1-4-Mono-Jack-Plug-Lead-3m/Product.html?searchtype=allproducts&searchsource=0&searchstring=guitar+amp+cable&urlrefer=search\these are the sort of leads} - they have very long connectors. If it's just for playing in his room then 3m is plenty - if he plays on stage (???) he'd want longer ones

will shut up now!

Eddas · 15/12/2011 19:44

oo lots to look at! will go and look now and come back.....
