Christmas cards

I'm looking for inspiration for a simple way to hang Christmas cards. I have some ribbon and some very little wooden pegs as a starter for 10. I saw a garland in a shop today which was made out of string and buttons which was sweet but a little pricey for what it was. I like the idea of it though. Any crafy suggestions?

My Mum uses wide florist's ribbon by the metre blu-tacked to a suitable surface, and staples cards to it. We both use florist's ribbon round cakes too.
