Postable presents.

Need two more presents and am totally stuck.

1. DP's cousin and her husband. In their 40s, childless, diabetic. No idea what they're into, never been inside their house. We're not going to see them but a huge tin of shortbread and a £20 Debenhams voucher turned up from them this week so we'll have to post something.

1. DP's aunt and uncle. Retired, in their 60s, diabetic. Also got Debenhams vouchers in our Christmas card from them.

I don't really want to send vouchers as that's what they've sent us, no chocolates because of the diabetes, no idea what they'd want book/DVD-wise. Help!

You can get diabetic chocolates quite easily, try boots, M&S and probably the supermarket if you have a big one near you.

Do they drink? I don't know much about diabetes but if they do a nice bottle of port sent in one of those wine boxes.

I wouldn't worry about sending a voucher though as it is the most practical thing to post - just make sure its not for the same shop as they sent you in case they think you sent it back

Cheese (presuming you're posting within UK)?

How about cinema or theatre vouchers? (obviously still vouchers but at least a bit 'different'!)
Or what about sending both couples a nice holly / olive tree?

What about ordering something from Amazon to be deliver directly to them? What about a cookery book, wine glasses, soaps or smellies?

What about a seasonal bouquet or arrangement sent to their addresses?

I like the bouquet idea! I know they'll be at MIL's for Christmas Day, so shall we get it delivered after or before for them to enjoy it most?

I would try to get a bouquet delivered before Christmas, probably 22nd/23rd. I say this because everyone wants things delivered on Christmas eve and it is really busy in the florists. If you leave it until after Christmas they might wonder if their gift has got lost in the post! Also they might not have had a fresh delivery at the florists, so they might be using what they have left and the bouquets might not be as nice.

If you get a hostess type bouquet (in water) they won't need to mess around with a vase, and it should last a good 8 days. The florist will include a message on a card. I should mention that prices are higher than usual, as on Valentines and Mothers day. If you know a florist local to where they live and contact it directly with your order it may be a lot cheaper than ordering by Interflora.
