Our cupboard is looking bare so what should we have in the house for guests - any lovely drinks to recommend?

We have gin, grey goose vodka and some strange whiskey...

Already had a glass of red. Might have just a little bit now to try of course! will report back.

Nibbles. Hmm I have only a few cheese biscuits and some bits of cheese in fridge or a packet of garlic croutons (Ullrrrrrrrrgggh) that have been in cupboard since the summer-bought for a salad probably. Will be having black pudding, crisps, ingredients to rustle up a few delicious things on Wed.

Sponkle I have sloe gin back from 2005 it'll be fine.

I have a bit of a stash, so we have... Sloe gin, plum gin, limocello, scotch, ouzo, raspberry liqueur, baileys, wine, prosceco, sparkling cidre and a few assorted dripples of flavoured stuff. Pretty sure more will turn up before Christmas too, dh wants to get a massive jug of ale in at the very least.

sponkle · 12/12/2011 20:42

Bottle of Jack Daniels. Couple of bottles of Laurent Perrier rose. All you need. Well ok, maybe a bottle of Baileys. And some Drambuie.... I don't plan to be sober over Christmas...Grin

Sparklingbaubles · 12/12/2011 20:47

Talkin you have a drinks cupboard. Envy No trolley then? Grin

KellyKettle · 12/12/2011 20:50

Soda streaming wine? You've got me wondering what else you could do it to.

And Baileys & hot milk sounds lovely!

sponkle · 12/12/2011 20:50

No Jajas, our port was a present to my husband from the company he left earlier this year. We don't really drink port but it is lovely with some Stilton at Chrimbo.

WifiNappies · 12/12/2011 20:51

Gah, posted too soon.
Disorrano, 3 flavours of Baileys, Sheridans, Vodka, Brandy, Jack Daniels, Pimms, Tia Maria, Butterscotch Schnapps, loads of other random flavours of Schnapps, Drambuie, Sherry, Gin, Sloe Gin, Rum, Bacardi, Advocaat, Port

I'm a bit of a collector Grin

Will get wine, beer, lager, Magners and cava in for Xmas

Am currently BFing so a few slugs of Baileys might be my limit :(

We usually have gin & vodka and mixers; lagers & guinness and some bottles of wine kicking about.

At Christmas we bump it up with sherry, champagne for having with Xmas dinner and some 'Christmassy' spirit - ie rum or brandy - good for drinking and also for adding to cream/custard/butter. We also get a bottle of tequila and some triple sec because I love margarita cocktails.

We also have a nice little collection of strange coloured spirits (a blue one and a green one and a few non-descripts) gathering dust at the back of the pantry - I will never drink them but can't bring myself to throw them out.

jenk1 · 12/12/2011 21:42

i have

a litre of harveys bristol cream
strawberry vodka
raspberry vodka
blackberry vodka
3 bottles of red
2 bottles of white
5 bottles of rose
litre bottle of whisky
litre bottle of baileys

chin-chin Grin

wonkylegs · 12/12/2011 21:43

Ooo we have just had a root round clear out of ours
Retained a wide selection of whisky (DH is a fan), Gin (Bombay sapphire & my new favourite Jack Cain's Northumbrian Gin), Ginger wine (yum winter warmer) , Pimms winter (yum winter warmer 2), Sloe Gin (yum winter warmer 3) brandy (pudding), sherry (my dad) , some weird Norwegian loganberry spirit, nice armaniac (sp?)... We sound like alcoholics but actually just drink every now & then but like to have something appropriate to the occasion.
Loving Ginger wine at this time of year

wonkylegs · 12/12/2011 21:51

(god we do sound like alcoholics when I realise that that's just the spirits cupboard ... There's also wine cupboard with a wide selection from the wine societies Christmas catalogue... White, red & fizz ) Blush In my defence I'm not a big drinker and we are expecting a lot of guests over the next few weeks
